These specialist survey companies expect to get paid by their client.


The client usually makes it clear by broad hints, indirectly or by their body language and tone of voice, what outcome is desired.


The specialist survey companies tailor the survey questions and framework, including when to ask, who to ask to achieve the desired outcome.

To further ensure the client will be pleased with the survey result, the data is analysed in such a way to skew the result accordingly.

sorry i respectfully disagree .... then why even waste the money on running a survey in the first place when an opinion is already in place ?

companies (and governments) get surveys done to get closer to the ground and use that information to formulate their policies and strategies

this survey above survey seems to be non-commissioned and just a "flag-waving" opportunity for the 'winning' country

I am afraid that is a fact in most cases when you commissioned one. How independent you will never know. The fact that this survey said Singaporean is the happiest in Asia, you need to ask questionsssss! If they say among the happier ok lah.

Not sure you have experienced with professional survey company that will 'help' you with your desired results? Most times, these companies are engaged to be the I dependent 3rd party survey. How you frame your questions, analyze the data and present them make miles of difference.

what i'm talking about is what Ricohflex is talking about, which is surveys done for information from the market, for firms to purchase and make use of.

and of course, surveys are done to elicit a particular response. no survey is entirely unbiased and fair.

and what you're referring to is a different type of survey which was commissioned by a company for their own purpose.

Guess who are happiest if Sg is backward and poor like a fishing village? So be grateful to our forefathers whom made what we are today......no doubt there are so many short falls...but which developed countries have not? The important thing is identify the issues and try our very best to resolve...and make it sustainable.....Sg is land scarce with no natural resources. ...this is a constant reminder to all Singaporean and we are talking about survival everyday.....nothing come free including water and air...can u survive by eating air and water?

Btw I am very happy to have a safe and comfortable shelter....reasonable well income that can affort me many luxuries and overseas trip....

While we all started out for our survival, along the way, some got off better and left others behind.

We wouldn't be what we are today without those that were left behind. So, while we create more ministers and MPs, these people are 'employed' to look into how to earn $ from external. HDB and income from its own citizen are not what we want to see and appreciate.

Of course if the average citizen knows the answers, then no need for the MPs and ministers.
