hi Pauche

just want to say - I enjoyed viewing your trip images.

btw I have a colleague who was in Laos just about the same time as your trip & she rides the same type of bike too. Not sure whether you are all in the same group.

cheers

thanks.... usually i do such trips alone, free and easy. Laos is a place still very undeveloped where many people go there for motorbiking or or even cycling. You may check out the GT-Rider.com forum for more details about motorcycling in Laos. ;)

Hello Pauche,

Let me know in future if you have another travelling plan and don't mind someone tag along. I'd rode a few times from SIN to Thailand on group ride and I like taking photos. Hope to learn from you.

Hi there, glad to know another biker her in CS. You may check out GT-Rider Forum or Singapore Bikes Forum as there are many people looking for companinions for such trips.

This series is really a very nice one. with really good perspectives and processing.

Hope to learn from you! Which one is your favourite lens?

Every lens serves its purpose, but i think my favourite is the 10-22...

yeap.... its indeed a nice country to travel while tourism is still quite minimal at the rural parts of the country. I've met many backpackers along the journey who enjoys the slow-paced lifestyle too.

Wow! Nice series. Beautiful images.

Thanks vince!

Fantastic series & Laos is a country that's always on my mind. If you ever do a hardcopy print, please sell one to me!

I love travelling as well & I ride too but doing 3K+ km on a XR250 is another thing! Salute!

Did not know Laos is so beautiful. Now it's on my travel list, after your series.
I like the photos with local people more, humanistic.

Wow.. This is a fantastic series!! :)

Thanks for all the comments! :)

Here is the pic of the bike that took me through thick and thin... the Honda XR250 Baja

with that, you can bring along all your barang barang including a DSLR set? wow, i'm carrying a 45L monster (sometimes up to 60L) and would wonder how would that fit onto a bike.

the two girls in #78 and #79 are cute. and i like the note about their toys... interesting.

Thanks!! The journey is actually slow and relaxing. I do about 200+km daily, at average speeds of 60km/h, and often stopping for photography. So it's actually not that tiring on the XR250!

Thanks for your comments.... if you are keen to shoot local minority tribes, there are plenty in Northern Laos. With the loud exhaust and the amount of dust I generate from my dirt bike, almost at every village I went pass, all the kids ran towards me and/or waved at me. I would say the most memorable route that I have went through is the Pak Xeng - Sam Soun 56km dirt route section. As this is not a route that many tourists take, the kids and even the adults at all the villages (at least a dozen villages) in this 56km section waved as me as though I'm the president during National Day Parade!!!

Wow.. This is a fantastic series!! :)

Thanks.... glad u liked it!

I travel light when I backpack (except for my camera stuffs)... My baggage that is strapped on the bike is 35ltrs. It fits a tripod, my clothes and toiletries. My camera bag is always with me, sling on. I chose not to strap on the camera bag to the bike is because of the bumpy off-road terrain that might cause damage to the equipments.

Thanks for your comments. ;)

Thanks, glad u like them. You are right, #57 and #58 are HDR-ed with 3 exposures each. You have an eye for detail! :D

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

you found my other posts! :bsmilie:

The post I had in GTR & SBF is more for 'bikers' about the road conditions in Laos, what to expect from each road/track, as well as the accomodations I had, which are more suitable for motorbike parking overnight. Just contributing back to the forum for what I've taken from there. ;p

Thanks.

Well crafted shots and an excellent series!

Thanks for dropping by and enjoying the series......
