Is it just me or is there no half-press af for em1?

Not sure if any of the 4/3 old timers still remember this guy called wrotniak? I would regard him as the guru for the 4/3 format, he 'disappeared' for a while and has now re-emerged and starting articles on the m4/3 formats....

Did u:

(1) register your phone with the camera using the Oly App (OI.Share) ?

(2) manually select the 'EM-1's' profile in your wireless network choice when u needed to connect before opening the app ?

Tried many ways but seems like best flow is:

Activate the wifi on the camera , select EM1 profile on iPhone , connect , then open App.

Using an iPhone 5 here most of the time.

I register the iPhone 5 with E-M1.
Then I connect the profile on the iPhone. But it show unable to find olympus camera.

On the other hand, when using S4, I can't seem to connect it to my E-M1 100. It keep loading whenever I tried to connect it. After maybe 1min it show me error connecting.

I wonder is it the wireless in the E-M1 issue now..

But do make sure the camera's wifi is also switched on when u wana connect it , really haha cause it happened to a friend. Wait until durian ripe also can't connect.

If all these fails, maybe u can bring along to either

(1) the 3rd Dec meetup? Tonnes of phones to try ;)
(2) Oly to check or

(3) can always meet up and try on my phone to see.

I can 100% sure that the wifi is on. Weird.. Dec meet up I won't be able to attend as I won't be in SG during that week. I guess I will really have to go down to Olympus Service center one day.

Alright I figure it out. When I use iPhone, easy setup will bring me to install profile page. Even after install the profile on the phone it won't work out. I have to manually select the wifi network from wifi manu and connect it before launching the app. I just wad u really mean after I read it again.

But now got issue on my own S4. When I select to connect E-M1 network in the wifi menu. S4 tried to obtain IP address from the E-M1. Once it fail to get IP from it. It show "Internet not available" and refuse to stay connected to E-M1. Thus I was unable to use the wifi with the app on my S4. Any Android user encounter the same issue here?

The E-M1's wifi has been the most wonderful experience for me.
1st thing is to switch on the wifi on the E-M1 by touching on the wifi icon on the LCD & the bar code scanner will be shown. Next launch your smart phone Oly Share apps to scan & connect. That simple.

P.S - I used Samsung Note2 for remote control and later with ipad to import the JPEG photos for viewing.
:)

Glad u got it right for the iPhone :) same as u, i took some time to figure out the best flow to getting connecting but once once, so far its still 100% success rate.

Android side maybe can wait for the other bros here or tonight I can try it on the Note 3 when my wife returns from her shopping / tea trip.

What's more impt is getting the steps right, like what cityzensg said, its great using the wifi sharing app haha.

Read online that for Samsung you have to disable Auto Network Switch in the wifi Advance menu for it to work.

Thanks bro! I am able to get my S4 to work after I disable the Auto Network Switch!

The half press on the E-M1 either has a very very short throw or the tactile response is very weak. The trigger is very light, too. Need a bit of getting used to.

To update on the blur image problem I had with one of my E-M1. It seems to be working normally and focus accurately after a re-flash of firmware and calibration.
