OMG! Look at the EM-1 aka the now official E-M1 Thread

is it ugly?

if only the EM-1 is priced at US$999, would be really sweet.. keep the price for lenses as they are. bodies will be outdated much sooner than lenses, use this to attract dslr users over to a smaller system. I for one would jump ship, well partially

I think you need to consider the target market...

That 40-150/2.8 is large. But its 80-300/2.8 (35mm eq). Compare that to anything on APS and FF and its still "light".

I don't think there's a 70 or 80-300 f2.8 lens...there's a Sigma 120-300mm f2.8 though, it's almost 3kg and 29cm length, but ye, Olympus will be alot lighter :)

Kekeke, hope the price not so big. :)

Read from dpreview, EM1 is shipping to customers!

That's fast! I'm still waiting for the review sets from Olympus to have a handson session for clubsnap members :)

When will be our turn to receive it...

woah, missed this. the pro 40-150 looks like a water flask & its almost double the 35-100 in length!

Looking forward to my 12-40 though I'm sure I'm not getting the EM-1. :) 12-35 vs 12-40 , which shall prevail?

hope the local release comes soon!

I think it is equivalent to a 80-300/5.6 lens...

Imagine you use the sensor in 4/3rds and scale it up to FF, your ISO sensitivity will be roughly better by 2 stops because of the 4x increase in sensor area.

Best looking camera system I have seen for a long long time. Being a former OM SLR system user and enthusiast, this EM-1 system will bring back many fond memories. At almost 70 now, this may be my final and last camera system. Hope they come out with the rumoured 300mm tele lens, either f2.8 or f4 will do.

Cheers.
I like the look too, the last one is too plastiky...I used to have the OM1 & 2; compact but feels solid in my hand.

So, the 40-150mm will be a reasonable size to go with the E-M1 and GH3 and not tiny like the 35-100mm from Panasonic, made more for the GX1 and GX7. Hopefully, the image quality will be double the 35-100mm also. :D

So..... I got my E-M1 (body only) yesterday and has been playing with it the whole morning. I only have one word 'AWESOME'!

It definitely is a more than worthy replacement for my trusted E-5 and the new sensor really really brings out the best in the original 4/3 lenses! No regrets in splurging at all.... anyone wants to buy an E-5? ;)

Hey man, have you tried the wi-fi mode ? Or the photo story feature?
