is it ugly?

Bro. Like your sig. "Dark knight OMD". Lol. That's what many folks are calling the EM1.

Ha ha. Do you know what I would call for silver omd? It is..... ROBOCOP.

Hi guys,

Just got hold of the E-M1 and I like how it feels in my not-so-large hands. :)

But I noticed there's a sound coming out of the camera every time I turn it off. And if you hold it FIRMLY with both hands and gently shake it up and down, there's sound coming out of it too.

May I know is everyone's set the same too?

Thanks in advance. :)

5 axis IBIS at work..
there is this sound since EM5 days..

its normal..

Olympus has a funny way of online warranty registration....

For the body ... it's quite straight forward to select OMD for the category and EM1 for the model....
but for the 12-40mm PRO lens, you have to redo the process one more time using the "PEN series" category before they let you enter the model to register your lens warranty.

Edit: Sorry... one more time again for the OMD accessories HLD-7

All together 3 times

Thanks for the response but I'm already aware about the soft whirring sound of the IBIS and I'm not referring to this and it doesn't bother me either. ;)

Try what I mentioned in my earlier post. It sounds like something's loose or isn't tightened properly in my E-M1.

Edited: It has this "tut" sound when I switch it off every time. When I gently shake it up and down it goes, tut tut tut tut......as if something's loose inside. Anyone else having the same problem with your E-M1?

I see I see..

I have not noticed anything..
Will try it later..

The sensor is suspended during operation. When power is switched off, the sensor will become loose, hence the "tut" sound. It's normal and has been the case since E-M5. Nothing to worry abt.

Reminds me of Sigma lens..

My EP5 also got this sound. But I didn't try the shaking part.

Thanks, guys! Appreciate all the inputs. :)

And to those guys who dare not shake it, hahaha :D .....I've already mentioned earlier, hold it firmly with both hands and shake it gently. You will feel and hear the tut tut sound. :D

Btw, I purposely went down to a shop just now to test their set and it was the same...tut tut tut.... :)

I'm very happy now as there's nothing wrong with my set.

Happy shooting! :)

Hahaha...actually you don't have to shake it but I did say gently anyway. Just hang your E-M1 with strap around your neck, hold it firmly with one hand and run as if you're chasing for that bus that you're about to miss and you'll feel and hear the tut tut tut already. In fact, I can think of a few situations where we will definitely run with a camera around our necks. :)

This thread is very quiet, not many people bought EM1?

Because only available to those who have pre-ordered at the moment and those who have pre-ordered have already collected their sets and are busy playing with them. Everybody else still waiting for stock to be made available openly to the public.

try calling cathay photo, ms color etc. they might have stock.

i'm still thinking to buy E-M1 or not.. am using RX1 currently.

Both Cathay and TK Foto have stock.

TK - Body only
Cathay - Body kit and body only

Sadly I must say that Cathay marked up their prices a little higher so if you really want to buy the Em-1 off the rack, get it from TK Foto.

PS: I'm not a TK staff. Just sharing my recce findings today.

Lol. I think remembering which is set is tougher.

Haha , true. There's so many buttons I somehow feel like a kid thrown into a candy house.
So much to eat but unable to eat all.
