That's the lens kit, right?
Does that mean that those who buy the EM1 from MSColor can also claim the free gifts from Olympus Singapore ?
If people are just using primes, the EM1 is kinda overkill for those...There are several reasons why they are letting go of the 12-40... I believe some may be due to the size and its barrel extends during zooming.. the 12-35 is indeed smaller.. some might be due to using just primes alone... I can't compare the iq but from what I see, most reviews show that it is pretty similar..
Probably the 12-40 has some advantage on the em1 due to the algorithm for oly lenses only
Just collected my em1. Its is well made and feel much more solid than em5 and gx7 but feel heavier. 12-40 can do close up shot.
That's a very good price. Most of us who pre-ordered are paying more than that for ours. Since Olympus Singapore does not check whether we pre-ordered or not when claiming the free gifts, I wonder how they stop those who bought the MS Color sets from claiming the free gifts.anyway, just called to check.
$2790 Kit and no. u cant claim free gifts. unless u pre-order.
aiyah.when Best Denki having stocks...using voucher. heh

Didn't you say in the other thread that we only need to bring the warranty cards and receipts of the EM1 and the old E-system camera to collect the free gifts ?You have to bring the preorder confirmation from olympus when u want to collect the free gift..

I did mention the preorder confirmation from olympus..
Sorry if anyone attempted to get the freebies from olympus without the printout..
I did not bring the pre-order printout either... but I supposed they are able to check through NRIC?
OMG... look at the 12-40mm kit lens !
It's sharp as a razor wide opened ... just like a prime lens.
And it focuses very fast and accurate too even in low light though I suppose part of the credit must go to the EM-1. The EM-5 is quite bad under similar conditions from my experience.
These were taken at night.
1/80s f/2.8 at 36.0mm ISO 200
1/80s f/2.8 at 40.0mm ISO 200
1/80s f/2.8 at 36.0mm ISO 200
Black cats are notoriously difficult to expose properly but that did not seemed to bother the EM-1.
Really sharp. But directly from camera or you do Photoshop for quick processing?
