i find on ebay last week, there's NOS of OM 50/f2 macro AF....as long as i know that OM AF was can not plug with adapter OM - 4/3 on Exxx body? it need some modified...is it true? cause the price is cheap for the new stock;)

The Zuiko 50f2 AF is a 4/3 lens. This thread is more for the old 35mm SLR OM lenses and the 50f2 we refer to is the old 35mm OM 50f2. Also note that 4/3 lenses cannot be used on FF bodies, both SLR and DSLR.

Got a 90mm for a relatively low price.

Yes, low price is relative. I am also curious to know how much you got it for?

How would you compare this 90/2 with the 100/2 ? I read that the 100/2 is also very sharp so would be interested in how the 2 matches up.

Like your shots, especially the b n w, which reminds me of my younger days in the 60s N 70s. The 90f2 macro is a supreme macro lens. How relatively cheap was it, if I may ask?

I got it for close to 900 USD inclusive of shipment.

I have no experience with the 100/2, so I'm afraid I can't tell. I got it mainly for portraits, and there was this copy available at that price and I'd say very good condition, so I went for it.

USD 900 is the going price for the 90f2 and the 100f2 should be about 500 to 600. I tried the 100f2 before and shot it on my 5D, 3 shots of the owner of the lens wide open, really excellent lens. MWP, if I can find the images, I can email to you as I do not want to post it here. So far I was made an offer only once from an OM user for S$ 1100 and did not take up the offer as I already have the Contax 85f1.4.

Haha, you're spreading poison, yet I can't resist. Sure, share with me the images to gwunwai-AT-gmail.com (replace the -AT-). Thanks!

I have a 24f2.8, a 50f1.4 and with this 90mm, I'm pretty much done for now. I need to work the lenses for a while first, to get a better feel of them before I even want to consider something else :)

I have seen some images and it is very good. It is a dilemma between the 90/2 and 100/2 and the OM 100/2 and CY 100/2. I will let fate decide which comes my way :)

How can poison be cured? You have made some good choices. I am on the same path until an OM 35-80/2.8 cross my path and asked me to pick it up at a relatively low price. I obliged and now have to rethink my entire lens setup....:what:

Hi nordleadx, welcome back. What cam did you use? I am curious to know the difference between the 50f1.2 and 55f1.2. Do you have any examples to demonstrate their differences. Thanks.

Wow, the 100f2 images are stunning.

Despite the poison, thanks for sharing, nordleadx :)

Just found the 3 shots that I took with the OM 100f2. One word to describe the lens, stunning.

All the pics are shot using Canon 5D mk 1

55mm f1.2 is warmer and softer in terms of image quality ..

ofcos the size also, older 50mm is 55mm filter size and 50mm f1.2 only 49mm

to be honest, both are gd lens. hopefully i can find some more pics to demonstrate their different.

100mm f2 is one of the few with ED element. 90mm no ed element if I can recall and btw, unless we shoot wide all the time.

These lens very hard to use on Canon body if use smaller aperture , the L lens are great too

Some more example om 28mm f2.8 on my recent trip to Penang

Will find more pics from my film. OM are really great cameras, I remember recently sold 2 om4 for like 250 or so and for a long time no body seems interested.

Bro , its because they have the ed element inside. special;)

Thanks for sharing. Yes ED element, just like the 35-80f2.8.

Here is one from a cheaper alternative, the OM 50f3.5 wide open.

btw, is it ok to post a picture in this forum more than 1 in a day? just read the rules...just wanna make sure:)

thanks

Welcome Declan79, wonderfully sharp 50f1.4, my favorite lens.
Another I love is the OM 35f2.

Anthony, I heard that the 35f2 has the problem that some copies are not that well-made, in terms of colour and sharpness, and it's a bit of hit and miss?

As long as the photos support technical discussion of the lens, it's ok but we need to refrain from just posting photos for the sake of just posting. Also let's restrict just one photo to support a particular feature or technical aspect of a lens per person. Good that you bring htis point out. Thanks.
