I was searching for a 100mmf2 and when this 100mmf2.8 was offered to me I bought it after a single shot test wide open. This lens is really amazing wide open, sharpness. color. Here is a series of 3 photos of my grandson shot one after the other within a few seconds while he was playing on a rocking horse.

Canon 5D, the closest to an SLR with a digital sensor. Excellent FF with 12 mp, good dynamic range, excellent color rendition with most alternate lenses. I love the OM jewels and they really shine on the 5D. I change the focusing screen to a Canon Ee-S super precision matte screen. I also change my VF to a KPS 1.35x. The OM-EOS adapters with focus confirmation from Tagotech, mass sales here, is very accurrate. I have 5 of them. Let me know if you need help. By the way, I used to own the 40D and whenever I review my old photos, I wanted to buy it back. I believe, both these two older Canon models have weaker AA filters and thus they render excellent details, sometimes even better than the 5D2.

Not that. The 5D is such a basic DSLR, it feels more like an SLR with a digital sensor. I prefer such a camera instead of the current ones with too much funtions and features I don't use. How I wish such cameras are still being produced with the latest processing software and higher resolution LCD but funtions remain the same, simple and stupid. That's what I meant.

Ah okay. I know I still use my OM-1N sometimes and all you need to do is set aperture, shutter speed, and focus. I hardly use it nowadays because of the death of my favourite film - Kodachrome.

That's one of the greatest disappointment of film shooters. I am still searching for a good film to use. Fortunately, the 5D is also very film like when you don't sharpen your images too much when PP.

Agreed, at ISO 1600, its almost like shooting film Some good film to use is Portra 400 VC or Ektar 100, I have some pictures posted in the first few pages of the thread shot with the OM1 and Ektar, lovely combo with zuiko glass

Disclaimer: I do not know both the 2 gentlemen who posted on the two links listed here. My purpose is to let people who are interested to buy some good OM camera and Zuiko lens to use on your DSLR, they should try these out.

1. I own a similar camera and I love it. It has better metering modes than the OM-1n and produces consistent quality photos and it also looks good and very elegant especially in black.

2. I own almost the whole range as what this guy is selling, except the 85f2 and 135f2.8 because I have a Zeiss 85f1.4 and a Pentax K 13f2.5. I am still interested in the 85f2 plus the 135f2.8 to complete my range but these are not my priorities now.

Please make sure you refer to my former link on a post about s/numbers of Om lenses. Pick your choice with the latest s/no and make sure you test them for other aspects.

If you are interested and still have questions, ask them, but if you think I can offer some good tips on these lenses, just send me a PM.

More from my OM-1MD, F.Zuiko 50mm f1.8 @ f1.8, Kodak Ektar 100:

Both photos shot wide open to check the bokeh of the Olympus F.Zuiko 50mm f1.8, which some call it the "body cap" for OM bodies. However, I find that it renders bokeh and colour tones quite well, I wouldn't call it a body cap, its no slouch.

Hi, I got my ektar from Ruby many many mths back, you might wanna call them up to check for availability.

I got it developed at Konota at the Peninsula area, its in the same building at Cathay. As for scanning, I scanned it myself using a Canonscan 8800F I hope that helps. If you need more info, please don't hesitate to ask.

Got a 90mm for a relatively low price. Here are some shots wide open

Both shots were self-scanned, and no pp was done except for cleaning of dust spots.

The challenge, I find, for this lens, is to get the focus right, but if you do, the results are pretty good

Like your shots, especially the b n w, which reminds me of my younger days in the 60s N 70s. The 90f2 macro is a supreme macro lens. How relatively cheap was it, if I may ask?
