I once heard that Oly is the Leica of the East. At f2 it is actually sharper than the Cron at f2 and definitely sharper than both the Canon 50 f1.4 and Nikkor 50 f1.4 Ai. In terms of color rendition, it is very close to the Cron and the Cron being the most natural. I have tested Zeiss, Leica, Oly, Nikkor, Mamiya, Pentagon, Pentax and of course Canon, and my personal preference is Zeiss followed by Leica and then Oly. But the most versatile 50 is definitely the Oly 50 f1.4 which I intend to leave it permanently on my camera. By the way, I use adaptors from Tagotech.
Thanks for the info...i am think of buying the Takumar lens and 40D...;p
Btw, i think 40D rocks too.
I use 40D because it can take virtually most of the alternative lenses available. But if you are interested in Pentax, make sure you select the older generation of SMC Takumar M42 mount. The Pentax K mount has issues with the 40D. Best is go for the whole range of OM Zuiko, 18 f3.5, 21 f2 or 3.5, 24 f2.8, 35 f2, 50 f1.4 and 50 f1.2. I seldom shoot longer than 50mm.
so beautiful..

Will try pushing the film 2stops the next round

	Been using my dad's OM-1 with a G. Zuiko Auto-S 50mm f/1.4:

The Om 24mm f2.8 is reputed to put all other 24mms to shame except the Canon 24L which is about 12 X the price. I am fortunate to own this lens and just loves the way it can out resolve my 10MP sensor all the time. It is so close to my Leica Elmarit 28mm f2.8 but at 4mm wider, I just love it. Took it out this morning, rather cloudy but clear enough to try out the lens at its peak which is f8.

wow...mounting on a 40D feels good.
looks sharp and clean to me..nice lens.
didn't know zuiko got so many reputed lens.
Wonders if anyone has the 50mm macro here?
There are many more of old OM Zuiko lenses that will wow all of us when mounted on today's DSLR. Hope those who owns such lenses can come out and post some of their photos, like the 18mm f3.5, 21mm f2/3.5, 50mm f3.5 macro, 50mm f1.2, 85mm f2 etc..
