Hi guys,
I just added links for "Adaptor" for/to OM bodies/Zuiko Lens.
Do suggest more if you have more links. Hope it helps! :)

hey.... nice thread.. i used to have an OM1 it is somewhere in storage now.. i am sure it is all moldy.. u guys know anywhere to get it cleaned??

Hi Mygixs,
Thanks for dropping in.
A nice guy who have recently CLA his OM2N replied my PM about the sources.
If they do Bodies, they should be able to do the lens as well.
Attached below is his reply >>

"Simple CLA (change light seal etc.) should be about $80-100, either CamX at Pennisula Shopping Centre, Camera Hospital on Prinsep Street or De Camera Consultant at Grandlink Sq: google to get their contacts. Overhaul of electronics is expensive though (exclude for OM1); can be $250 thereabout, as sometimes circuit board need to be totally swapped in from cannibalised bodies. Ask around for best price."

Both photos shot wide open to check the bokeh of the Olympus F.Zuiko 50mm f1.8, which some call it the "body cap" for OM bodies. However, I find that it renders bokeh and colour tones quite well, I wouldn't call it a body cap, its no slouch. :)

I am sorry, I really don't remember ... The woodcarver I would guess is Superia 1600, as it was very dark where he was, same with the dolls ... Beach would probably be some expired Provia 100F or 400F. Color tone changed a bit by the warm polarizer I used, which I have since then abandoned and replaced with a neutral one.

Bokeh is definitely no slouch on the 50mm 1.8 :). And there were different versions, so that may have been a factor ...

You can buy some weincell batteries off the net, alternatively, you can use a handheld meter or any existing camera with a meter since the OM1 is fully mechanical:) Why not get it serviced and ask them to install battery adapter that will allow it to take SR44 batteries? You can try this website: www.zuiko.com if you dont mind sending ure camera to the expert overseas. Alternatively, you can do it locally, however, prices may vary.

You can bring along a smaller digicam with aperture priority mode like eg. lx2 or 3
Or get a OM2 for around $150-$200 that accepts 357 / SR44 batteries which can be easily purchase from watch retail. :)

Very lovely and well taken photos at wide open. Seems like the OM 50 f1.8 is the prefered lens on most Om cameras, why not the 50 f1.4 or the 50 f1.2?

On another note, being new to OM system, please enlighten me on the difference of an OM lens if the 'MC' is not on the lens description.

I own 3 OM lenses:
Zuiko MC Auto-S 50 f1.4,
Zuiko MC Auto-W 35 f2.8 and
H.Zuiko Auto-W 24 f2.8

Can any body tell me the differences as I am still looking for more lenses within this family and want to make sure I collect the correct ones.

Thank you.

You'll be surprised how sharp the f1.8 variant really is compared to its faster counterparts wide open. Why not get it? Hehe, coz i have the nikon 50mm f1.2 ais at the moment. :D
