OM , OM1 , OM2 , OM2N , OM3 , OM4 photo-sharing and possible meetups

i missed out again!!! sadly its been a long time since i last bring my om1n and lens out for a walk....ever since i got my RF..

Lets have film OM outing!!!! gogogogogogo!!!!

Pika: Shoot both together...sling bandolier style

For me, I will only **** the shutter before the next shot, reasons:
-- it will prevent accidental trigger the shutter release, when not taking pic. (miss fire...LOL)
-- when you keep the camera with remaining roll of film, the the spring shutter tension will not be pulled.

I have had a few misfire's before, and so I agree with Teo. :bsmilie:

Yea..lets go!!!
One b&w, one color..just nice!

Yes lock and Load!

put more film canisters into your ammo belt, similar to what they do to shotgun shells:)

Film is one shot one kill.
Not like digital, fire like machine gun only 1 kill (if lucky)...:bsmilie:

You can continue to hand wash your clothes. I prefer washing machine. End of the day, it is the number of clothes washed that matters. :)

To each his own. We all enjoy different things and its different aspects. What puts us together in a group is a common interest in a particular aspect. ;)

But sometimes, for more specific type of clothing, its better to hand wash. The washing machine may have washed more clothing, but end of the day, what's the point of having all your clothing washed but ruined? Food for thought.

Horses for courses, different strokes for different folks. End of the day, just enjoy the hobby and enjoy life:)

What's the point of having that specific clothing washed when those that you need to wear are still soaked, waiting to be washed. Anyway, it depends on your perspective. I made that washing analogy cos someone made sweeping statement that is definitely not in order. I don't use my digicam like a machine gun. I try to do one shot one kill too to avoid too many post processing. Similarly you can load up a film magazine and auto film winder and fire away like a machine gun. Shooting film does not mean that each shot is better composed, thought or executed. And shooting digital does not mean that more digital thrash are generated.

I am using a friendly tone :) and not bashing. I end my opinionated thoughts here.

Enjoy your film outing. More digital photos from me. Done in one shot. :)

OM 18. I am starting to enjoy this lens very much. Minimal distortion, super wide perspective and excellent sharpness.

Hi MWP,

The only gripe which I have about this lens is vigenetting at larger apertures which will only be non existent at f11. Do you have this issue as well?

Micro-contrast of this lens is also not up there with the best, although I think I am really nit-picking here.

However, it is the strong performance in all other fields in such a tiny package that makes it a truly enjoyable lens!

Since I shoot digital, vignetting is not a concern to me. I also need to shield the lens from direct strong sunlight. In good light, the photo has a 3D feel to it. It can do with a bit more micro contrast but IMO, natural to the eyes and not overly sharp.

Problem that I am facing is using this lens at night handheld. Focusing and getting a sharp image is a challenge in dim lights.

Hey MWP,

I like what the 18mm can do. The picture on the mosque gives me another take in abu dhabi which I have not encountered... mainly because our eyes don't see it as such, but it's a wonderful capture.

Do you know, if compare to other 18mm lenses (manual ones) how does this one stack up to the rest?

Have you tried shooting with the sun by the side, or slightly in front... How's the flare, if any at all.
