Saw newspaper today... it is retail at close to S$800! I was pretty shock, considering that S110 and X-F1, etc are selling at a lower price by quite a big margin.
I hope the street price would be much lower...
edit: Sorry wrong info. Read the paper again when I got home. LX7 is still 799 and P7700 is also near to 800. My bad.

I am not sure about others but lx7 was sold at rcp$799 when it was launches here.. definitely some good camera shops were selling much lower during then... so it make sense for xz2 to follow this kind of pricing.. consider that it's belong to the same class of product and the features are almost identical ( or better ) then the lx7..
well.. maybe those who wanted this compact but unwilling to pay high price can wait for a while.. hopefully the price drop is fast and drastic like the lx7 just after a few months of launching..

so far is there any local user review on this cam? it's been out for awhile but seems very quiet and not much talkabout despite being one good high end compact... in fact if my lx7 hasn't depreciated so much, I might consider changing to this due to its tilt LCD and wifi ability..

I bought one for my company's christmas lucky draw... sadly, i didnt get it. I'll ask the one who got it for comments.

The best i got was list price $798 - 10%.
Demand is not as high as RX100 (no stock in many places and price negotiation is rigid), so can get it almost anywhere.

i'm a xz-1 user.. IMO not worth the price to get xz-2.
i went for the kill and got a nex-6. if price is tight can consider 5N or 5R. just abit more nia. no point get 2 x point n shoot cameras, with same lens, similiar IQ and sensor.

XZ1 is 10 megapixel 1/1.63" CCD sensor with Trupic V processor, 28-112mm (35mm equivalent) f1.8-2.5 lens, 720 (30p) video recorded in AVI, ISO100-6400, 3" 614k OLED
XZ2 is 12 megapixel 1/1.7" CMOS sensor with Trupic VI processor, same lens, 1080 (30p) video record in MPEG4, H.264, ISO100-12800, 3" 920k articulating capacitative Touch screen LCD
There is a difference in the internals, tho lens is the same.
NEX6 is a different kettle of fish... comparable to EPL5 or even EM5.

Agree , points that Milez brought up r why I'm considering XZ-2 when I've XZ-1 too. I also own a pen and use it mainly with my Pana 12-35mm.
The XZ-2 comes in handy when I really don't feel like bringing the main cam and especially when I go concerts with the over-zealous camera bouncers policing the over- zealous policies of th organizers.
