well... almost wanted to step in AP to have a look at the 550uz but stopped short when i see the shop keeper digging his nose while sitting facing out of the shop... :bigeyes:

Tested the Olympus SP-550 today at photo stores and took some pics ..and saw the results at the computer.. not really impressed with the results although the specs seems to be the best among the digital camera of its class. I find the color are not vibrant enough and sharpness.. hmm..:think:

Maybe you guys should try it and maybe have different views..:dunno:
Just heard about Nikon P5000.. would like to compare with that..

For a P&S with 18x I think it is good enough, currently on a league of its own as there are no other similar ones in the market. I am sure more manufacturer will produce cam like this in near future and a apple to apple comparison can be done. Only complaint is slow shot to shot, XD card usage and slow focussing.

Yes. is 3x zoom. But i think i would like to consider other factor.. such as color, sharpness etc.. If not enough zoom can always get tele.. What do you think?

Tx. In my opinion I think many other camera with less specs are much better results..

it doesnt have a hotshoe.....wif such a long zoomm but no hotshoe 4 ex flash. wat a waste.

erm... the IT show is now selling the 550uz at 849, by song brothers

free gifts are 2 x 1gb xd card, not sure which type,
a card reader
adobe photoshop elements
digital workshop
and AA rechargeable battery pack - think by sanyo...

seems like not much difference getting it here as compared to john?

all i require are the xd cards and the batteries... adds to around slightly > 100 bucks for them...
