Olympus E3 $999 only

yeah really sad such ppl in the sales industry could belike that.. i think they are forgetting the ,ain reason he god enployed because of us the buyer! and his company and employer is still having business because of us again!

in short while he is working in that line of business he owes his salary to US!

But the way they treat us it seem we owe them something such nerves!

To them, its a "You think I give a hoot about you? No so shut the h*** up" but that's their problem,no sales, their boss also will screw them :bsmilie:

OT a bit, since I didn't buy an e3.

Really? Darn... now I feel cheated by Harvey Norman. The perils of being a noob and buying things on your own without a senior to help check.

Why did they cheat you? I always buy from them no problem

Anyway,I went down to Song brothers,I went in happily and left happily with no one serving me, cause no one disturb me,I'm happy,no black face person to spoil my mood, that goes to show their service, as long as you're happy, that's all that matters,I can just go there "I want new E-3,pay by cash" and leave, not happy with service, just move along,no need to start a fight with them cause it just ain't worth it

Or maybe they just don't care about youths who are really interested in to photography..
There's a lot of times i go in to camera shops and they don't bother about me just because i'm young, giving the "No way that boy is going to buy anything" look..
Thinking of us as small fry.. :(

It is possible, but I look older than I am, but now I've reach the age of how I look, and I certainly don't look young

Okay lah, more of suspected cheating? Coz about 2 weeks after I bought the "brand new" camera, I saw the link to check the "hidden" menu posted in another thread and just for fun, checked it. And the shutter count was like 1400+ with the SSWF at 1000+ also. Minus off the < 500 shots I took on a 3 days trip (where I left the camera on the whole day instead of switching on and off), I can only imagine where it clocked the counts from...

Additionally, I read the thread about what to check when buying 2nd hand lenses and one of the steps is to shine torchlight through it to check for fungus and major dust? So that I did, and comparing it to the 40-150mm I got from elsewhere, the 14-42mm bundled in the kit had quite a lot of whitish specks on the inside (can't clean them off with the blower and brush). Not sure if it's dust or beginning signs of fungus so I sent it for cleaning (the lady manning the counter was giving me weird looks :bsmilie:). I know dust is everywhere but for something that's supposed to be "brand new", I sure wasn't expecting such "quality".

Overall I'm still happy with a working version of my dream camera, but a tad upset that I got "conned" into buying what I thought was brand new when evidence suggests otherwise.

On the bright side,it has warranty right? I can't remember the exact age of my E-3,but the shutter count has yet to reach 20k,but has passed 10k,goes to show how much I shoot with my E-3 :embrass::bsmilie:

Change track a bit, does this(E-3 clearance sales) mean there is a new body coming out soon?

I bought it from Song Bro at $999 includive of GST. Came with a Sandisk 8 gig card. 1year 3mth warranty if reg online.

IT seems that my posting has

1) Given Song Brothers some publicity

2) Destroy the dreams of those E3 seller who just post their E3 for sale at $900.
(SO SORRY):bheart:

You got it from Harvey norman funan? I had the same problem when I got my camera there. I suspect they just repackage the display set, coz it even came with the price/feature tag that comes with display set. I sent them an email to kpkb and they exchanged it for a brand new set, no question asked...which means they were probably guilty...

Nope, Harvey Norman West Mall. Thing is, when I went and got pressured into buying on the spot (by my family, not the salesperson), they tried to perform the on-the-spot test with the only set in the store but camera wasn't working. So the salesperson said they will order a new set from the warehouse if I place a deposit with them. That I did, and I got called that the "new" set is ready for collection the next day. How was I to know that the "new" set from the warehouse is not new... :bheart:

But looking on the bright side, knowing that the camera's been "used" before means I'll be less nit-picky about keeping it pristine - i.e. will bring it out and shoot more. :bsmilie:

Many years ago...... i wanted to buy a camera from HV, but there is only one display set left(I noted down the serial number) when they said will order a new pcs for me. after a week when i went to collect, they took out a 'new' one from the box. And when i check the serial number, its the display set.

nice I should do that also... ^_^ sigh some ppl will do anything just to get the sale....

For $999 .... can not expect same level of service as buying it for $3K right ..... :dunno:

If really do get a similar level of service than it is EXEMPLARY. I don't think it is fair to expect the salesperson to treat you the same as they also survive on commission. And these "sales" item may not carry the same commission. For all you know they may get better commission from selling even some simple $300 point and shoot than the E3 at that price!

Even if no customer at that point in time. How would they know that when they are attending to you, another potential customer will not walk in?

All said, I'll be quite happy to just get the $999 E-3 with no words spoken at all and no demo and fast, fast leave Song Brothers premise to quickly get home and start shooting ...

if that's thier attidue bro then we dont need sale folks make it like in the US where items are displayed like those in the grocery you carry a cart dump in the cart and proceed to the cashier to pay :) haha

But most if the time if I really need or wanted to buy i do my homework and research for the items I would like to purchase hit the shop buy and go :bsmilie: less conversation with sale folks less unwanted things you'll be buying... hahaha
