maybe olympus forgot about the lens chart / roadmap already.... :bsmilie: i'm still waiting for the 8-16 uwa though. more surprises please!

everyone is waiting !!!

.....As for comments that they were able to fit in an E-3 sensor, hello, the E-3 also uses a FourThirds sensor, there's no issue about fitting it into any FourThirds camera!
I am sure most of us knows that a fourthird sensor should fit a fourthird body ..... the point here is that we think Oly is using the E3's sensor rather than the E510's sensor. And we also do know that both are 10MP. Just that the E3's sensor have a wider DR ......

I am using a Panasonic DMC-L10 DSLR. I remember reading somewhere that the Olympus E3 sensor is the same sensor as my Panasonic L10.

Therefore, it should be possible to fit in the E3 sensor into the E-420.

Hmm.... E-520 with E-3 sensor, tilt & swivel LCD, SAT, mode A Live-view, face detection.... I will chiong for it. ;)

Hmmm, olympus seems to attack from 2 front: SP-570 UZ (prosumer model)

While it is not the first compact camera with flash system, I think this is the first one which can accept the flash accessories from a DSLR, and it can do wireless too. (see flash -> http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/product.asp?product=1367&fl=4)

One thing to note is all these information is very slim at singapore website. Why? :(

The Oly SG website is not updated quick enough?

Also if you go to the FourThirds website, you will see the 14-35mm f/2 as one of the lenses you can "see" on a body:
http://www.four-thirds.org/en/products/matching/index.html

If you haven't seen that site you should check it out...I used it to see what a 14-42mm would look like on my E-300. I just checked the 14-35mm on an E-300 and on the E-410, and the lens looks like a MONSTER on these cameras!

Don't the sensors mentioned in the E-410 and the E-3 have 11.8 total MP whereas the one in the E-410 and E-510 have 10.5 MP but effective pixels are almost equal after everything is sorted?

Wow!!! This 420 is fantastic!!!! Wasted no IS only. Well, at least I dun have to wonder which P&S to buy. This looks good enough for a P&S. And I think it would probably be good enough for my underwater snorkelling and diving camera!!! Are we going to organize any GB from Japan? I assume it would be the first country to start selling it??
