Found these on dpreview.
$499.99 - Body Only
$599.99 - with ED 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 Zuiko Digital Zoom lens
$699.99 - with ED 25mm f/2.8 Zuiko Digital lens

$200 for the pancake. = 280 Singapore Dollars?

Bro don't know if dpreview price estimate is correct because I looked at various Jap sites and they all point to it being >S$600 for the 25mm. Even if you discount 15%, it still works out to to more than S$500.

... S$280... dream on :bsmilie:

Wont it be more worth it to buy the camera and the 25mm lens at the same time since it is 600+??

I'm guessing the street price is gonna be 400+. Like someone pointed out, Yodobashi has it at 39,900 less the 13% "points" is 34,713 or S$466.

No IS?

IS contraption will make it large and will not fit into 4xx form factor (size).
They might sneak in that "digital image stabilizer" similar to PnS which does not really work but add another star in the comparison chart. :dunno:

Woo.. too bad is not 25mm 1.8 or i sell my sigma 30mm 1.4:cry:pentax pancake have the 1.7 and 2.8 version it is cool:cool:

Oly takes baby steps. :) it will come, just wait for it. ;)

OMG!! So thin that lens!!! No wonder it's called a Pancake Lens.. hahahah

Wait 'til it reaches SG ... will be called Prata Lens .... or in MY, Canai lens ......;)

I found a Japanese guy using another brand of Pancake lens on his Panasonic L10 in Flickr

Panasonic Lumix L10 + Contax Carl Zeiss Tessar f2.8/45mm Pancake

Biggest difference will be that the Z Tessar is manual focus but the new ZD Prata will be AF!

Looks like the legendary OM-series has returned in Digital form!! ......
The legendary OM cameras were top quality bodies with the highest performance in the most compact format offering top notch optics .... presently the top grade 4/3 bodies are HUGE and the SHG lens are not really the most compact ..... a bit difficult to compare the E420 to, say, an OM2 .... :dunno:

exactly one year since the e410/e510 were announced. nice.

Sound kind of like they fit in the E3 sensor to me.

I have seen though comments from those considering the Sigma DP1 have changed their mind due to the pancake lens and are now getting the E-420.

Not really... I am still interested in the Sigma DP-1 because of the Feveon Sensor... I will have to see more info on that camera before making the purchase decision.

I do believe the pancakes will be a hit, and Oly will in time, develop a full line of pancake primes - I can imagine the 25/f2.8 on my 410 already! :bsmilie:

Pancake! How come no crepes... I prefer crepes to pancakes...

And yes... wider, wider, WIDER PLEASE!!!

No IS?

Well, that and the fact the E-4xx uses a smaller capacity battery, the BLS-1.

As for comments that they were able to fit in an E-3 sensor, hello, the E-3 also uses a FourThirds sensor, there's no issue about fitting it into any FourThirds camera!

woot! 25 f2.8 pancake! woot! more than 50% cheaper than the Leica 25 f1.4!

The E-420 + 25/2.8 pancake looks interesting. I might consider getting this over the Sigma DP-1.

I hope Olympus would release a wide and a tele pancake lens to go with the E-4xx series.
