TFV.. :D

Hi Bros,

Thought of sharing with you guys what I took at the F1 using the Olympus.

I used E-510 and E-330 with the Zuiko 11-22mm for the crowds, Sigma 30mm for the photographers and the Zuiko (Non SWD) 50-200mm for the cars.

The only sad thing is that I had only one vantage point to shoot.

Photos are unedited and uncropped.

Only reduced in size.

Hope you like them.

Cheers ;)

Enjoy!

Thanks for the pointers. :) I understand it now.
However, I still wonder why some non-4/3 users still commented that 4/3 DOF not thin enough.
Sometimes thin DOF might not be an advantage, I would prefer larger DOF in this case.

This is cute!

I switched from my canon to go into 4/3 was for the DOF advantage(or disadvantage) and of course colours cos i enjoy shooting macros and landscapes where large DOF is usually preferred where usually a F8 on the oly lenses will be good enough where i'll probably need to stop the canon lenses to F11 or F16 where lots of light will be lost.
As for portraits, knowing i can use the f2 at f2 and still get sharp pictures is not what i experience with canon lenses.

And purples are spot on with the E330

Wow! Very vibrant purple. Is this characteristic specific to E330 only?

I share the same view as you. For me, the occasions that need large DOF are more than super thin DOF.

I dunno whether is that a characterisetic of E330 as i've not try the other E-bodies but benchmark against my c8080 it renders as good if not better colours... also i read alot of people have only good things to say about e330 colours that's why i started with it though its only a 7.5MP. Am looking forward to the new E-A1 next year and oly's micro FT...

I believe it is also because there is good light. :bsmilie:

Wonderful colours.

At the angle you shot it, your seagull looked penguin-like! ha ha ha...

Haha, that seagull happened to fly nearly dead parallel alongside the boat's flybridge where I was trying to hang on for dear life!

Gotta love the 50-200mm's range and fast tracking even on the basic E-510! Would have loved to have the E-3 then; I could have gone to the bow and staked out there without fear of the sea-spray!

Now I now what the pro marine photogs go through - the cold, wildly bucking platforms, drenching by sea-spray, (possible) sea-sickness, injuries from losing one's balance and falling on the slippery deck!

Respect!
