I see... screw mount lenses meaning without any SSM or SAM ? AKA the CZ1680 and the good old minolta lenses ?
If can afford go for the CZ u will never regret.![]()
I never regret my CZ1680. It gives me better colors and sharpness on my A55 when I compare to my 5D+ L lenses
I'm sure my beercan Minolta will perform well too when I get my hands on it soon.
bro you're poisioning me hehehe I miss my Zuiko 14-54HG lens love the sharpness... i'm saving to get 16-80
i had the CZ16-80 before (sold it when i upgraded to full frame), and I can say that its extremely sharp. Its not a cheap lens, but as a premium lens, its not expensive (premium lens from other systems are even more ex).
If you are on a budget, can consider the Sony 16-105. Its nearly as sharp (center sharpness is nearly on par, only the corners can see that CZ1680 wins) and cost much lesser.
I totally agree with the part about the premium lens of other camps that cost much more.
yes.
SSM is fast and silent.
SAM I don really see any advantage over screw mount lenses, its definitely not faster. Maybe abit less noisy.
Its actually quite ironic that once you go into FF, the lenses are quite limited. Or i would say good and cheap lenses are kinda limited, of course unless getting old mnolta ones.
That is one main factor blocking me from going FF as i cant afford a cz2470. Think of it, actually its lucky for my wallet though.![]()
But once u get it and pair it with a full frame, u will be sure that's the only lens you will ever need... (just kidding, maybe 99% true at least for me)
Actually how fast a lens focuses largely depends on how fast the af motor is.
Probably Canon rely too much on in-lens af motor, so the bodies do not need to have really good af motor in them, thats probably why its slower than USM.
......
Sorry.. But having ditched my 5D+L lens for my current setup for its color and sharpness... I cannot stop mentioning it.. :bsmilie: This is exactly what I have been searching for and failed to find in the previous setups...
5D+L is good.. for its bokeh and creamy-ness in 1.4 lens and its softness .
If you love creamy bokeh, you've picked the right camp. Enter the 135 STF, the cream machine!
Eeeek ! ...manual focusing nightmare ! :bsmilie: ...you need a seven dan, black belt in photography in order to use that !!! :sweatsm:
...Jokes aside, that is one heck of a Bokeh making tube !
the 135 STF is a unique lens, i think only alpha mount has such lens right?
Minolta has never been afraid to be innovative in their products. The 500mm reflex lens is also the world's first and only reflex lens that can autofocus.
Surely very difficult for penta-mirror aps-c bodies, but I don't think it's that difficult for the FF 900/850 or the EVF 33/55.
Yup, it's the only lens with such design in the world, shame that not many people know it.
