Haven't check yet, probably walk over later after work and ask. The impression I always had was there is no international warranty.

Think got :) other lens don't have I think . I bought my sigma lens there don't have . For sony lenses it's available so quite solid if you can buy it cheaper in hk :)

No problem. It was just a casual remark of the dozen set. Don't take it too seriously buddy.

Don't think they have a dozen ready set and getting out of the airport will be a big problem with 12 lenses without tax!

It has alwayz been able to convert to tourist's international warranty since ages back, the question probably if it still stands... but calculated savings will only b 100 SGD if the HK price is at 1250 +-

$100 can buy filter. still got change to makan

Unless one of the bros here working at the airport customs also wanna tompang u buy the lenses... then u r safe bro... :bsmilie:

Yeap... the box is same size as the Zeiss 24mm F1.8 (Big Size Box), not the small 35FE box. I think you buy 4-6 already kena caught...

BTW, most shops mentioned that the stocks of 55FE may only come in mid or end January 2014, if no hiccups.

So enjoy your manual lenses first lah...

Anyone have used A7s pair with Canon FD Aspherical 85mm f/1.2 or Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 Aspherical?
Please share... wondering how it fares.. and the balance in terms of the weight.

Thinking of getting 85mm focal length to play with A7.
any advice which lens to get for such focal length? sharp and not so expensive one :)

Thanks

You can get the Samyang 85 F1.4 or Sigma 85 F1.4.
Btw, Rokinon is actually rebadged Samyang.

How about a second hand Leica Summarit 90mm f2.5? Or the older Elmarit 90mm f2.8? You can find an Elmarit going for much less than FD85 f1.2.

I will test on my el cheapo L39>Nex adaptor and Hawk's Helicoid V3 tonight then post report. From what i heard, light leaks happened to the first batch of A7/Rs

I just did a few test on the light leak since I am on leave and at home , with the Sun blasting into my window , I place the A7 facing the window and did a number of test shots using the following

1. Cheap RJ adapter with CV 40mm 1.4
2. FE 28-75
3. FE 35
4. La-ea4 only
5. La-ea4 with Sal 50mm 1.4

All shots at 30s , ISO 25,600 for all except RJ at 3200 , you will see why lol

1) Cheap Rj with CV 50mm 1.4 - ISO 3,200

No need to go to iso 25,600 to know that the Cheap RJ adapter is CMI ...T_T , or is this the case for all third party adapters ? Dont have the voigtlander or kipon to test

2)FE 28-75 , ISO 25,600

If you want to be anal, there is very very very slight light at lower left corner , but I would negligible and could be due to high iso artifacts. I am happy to say that no light leak issues in real world shooting situation.

3) FE 35mm , iso 25,600

Same conclusion as FE 28-75mm

4) La-ea4 only , ISO 25,600

Looks the same as the earlier two to me , with maybe more artefacts at the edges ?

5) La-ea4 with 50mm 1.4 , ISO 25,600

This obviously has more visible artefacts maybe due to more metal components, but still acceptable to me to conclude no real light leak issues.

Overall , I think the light leaks matter seems occur only at extreme shooting .

I won't call them light leaks really, it only occurs at high iso and long exposure. I won't hit those settings in all my shooting , hmm but of course if it's a perfect black box, it's perhaps more comforting to know ?

Lens cap is not absolute opaque. This test dont really show anything.

does it mean there's no Rokinon anymore in the market?

actually i prefer a faster lens than that..

anybody knows where to get FD lens?

Rokinon still exist, but in this part of the world, they are being marketed as Samyang.

You can make to visit to the shopping mall next to Peninsula excelsior, there are second lens shop there. There are some more in Peninsula plaza and The Adelphi

Artworkfoto carries Samyang lenses too. They have recently moved to Funan Level 4. Bring extra credit card as they have good collection of good stuffs to buy too.

Or wait for the latest Samyang FF E mount lenses to be available soon in 2014.

actually the light leaks happen because of the gap between the mount and the flange. With the cap or not doesn't really makes much difference… the cap only makes it darker so we can go to the highest ISO to make the light leaks more prominent. Not sure if I make sense but that's what I think… hahahaha
