So am I right to conclude that the following remote controls works on A7/R:
- Sony VCT-VPR1 remote control tripod
- sony RMT 1 /2 remote infra red trigger
- Sony Remote Control with Multi Terminal Cable

the cheap one does work. they all do the same thing actually just less fanciful buttons. Many been using it for bulb mode on the nex cams and they are fairly cheap as compared to the original ones. Only 3-4 bucks i think. something likethat. i got mine for like 5 or 6 bucks a while back. Works like a charm.

Eh? Currently the timelapse app works only for cameras like nex6, 5t etc. Hope u havent downloaded it for your a7/r =s

Had a quick play.
Seemed to work just fine.
Its on the playmemories website too, listed as compatible with the a7r, since 19th December, along with multiple exposure app and lens compensation app. :)

On the website, change country/region to Australia and you can see it

A mount as in alpha mount? All minolta lenses are a mount? Regardless of manual focus or auto focus ones? Sorry to ask such nebbish questions... i come from the world where my sensors are films... :)

Well, in the film world it's exactly the same. ;) Minolta manual focal and autofocus lenses don't have the same mount.

Older mounts r MC/MD mounts.

Not sure this has been shared before. I got the grip for my A7r, which can put two batteries in the grip. But I find Sony software a bit strange, where the cam only start using the 2nd battery when the first one is totally used up. But I also discovered that you do not need to put 2 batteries in the grip, just one will do!

thats a great feature.. using up one battery before the other.

Then you don't have to charge both batteries...

Seems SLR lenses works superbly on d A7/R. Tested d rokkor n SMC

Most definitely. if your lenses are more telecentric in design, you will not see issues observed in the leica's wide angle lenses.

This is not a Sony issue. These leica lenses aren't optimal for the digital sensor due to the short flange of the FF e mount, causing light not hitting the corners at 90 degrees. But the newer range of leica lenses like the WATE, have no problems because they are more telecentric in design.

You won't see this on other mirrorless cameras, because they are cropped. But if Fuji, Olympus, or Panasonic come up with a FF mirrorless, the same problem will appear.

3 ways I see can solve this, either by software, newer sensors that are angled at the corners to capture light at the optimal angle, or simply just use telecentric lenses.

All in all, It really boils down to lens design. And you should really read up more on the lens before purchasing. So many leica fanboys trying their hardest to put down the A7s, because they are pissed their m240s suddenly become less magical.

Yes. I tried but it doesn't actually OFF the monitor per se. There is still some information displayed at the bottom line of the monitor. Just everything else is black.

Press DISP, everything should be black. Although the monitor is not OFF, Sony made a mistake... its just showing black screen, so its still consuming battery.

I just got my semi hard screen protector (PCK-LM16) from Alan Photo (Sim Lim Square), they still have a few more in stock.:)

just received my minolta lenses. Huge pleasant surprise when i saw the 24-105 3.5-4.5

on the left sel 16-70 f4. on the right 24-105 3.5-4.5

Gariz cases are here ! too bad they are closing early today and not open tml.

Is there any wired remotes (original or 3rd party) available for the A7 yet? Intending to mod the head to connect to my radio trigger.

Have you checked Phottix?

How does the LAEA4 adaptor work with the 135 1.8 zeiss lens? Is the AF fast or retarded on the A7?
