The remote trigger app may help. Although no bulb mode.
The Sony VCT-VPR1 remote control tripod (S$169) has a detachable remote that has bulb mode
Guess many would have known , the sony RMT 1 /2 remote infra red trigger will be able to do bulb mode on the A7. When the camera is changed to bulb mode under manual settings, firing the remote trigger will open the shutter , pressing it again will close it.
Suspect the cheap infra red third party ones may work as well.

Was hoping the remote control app via smart phone can do exactly all these that the RMT Remote Commander can do...
I saw the new sony 3d viewer. Then was thinking if can connect a7 to it and live view the output to the 3d viewer glasses to compose and frame . Won't that e so cool

Yeah that's the one, it's ex ah lol. Can use the money to get a good lens le haha.
The sony charger will automatically cut off charging when it's done. So you can leave it on over night . Technically speaking , modern batteries don't need 8 hours charging anymore .
the cheap one does work. they all do the same thing actually just less fanciful buttons. Many been using it for bulb mode on the nex cams and they are fairly cheap as compared to the original ones. Only 3-4 bucks i think. something likethat. i got mine for like 5 or 6 bucks a while back. Works like a charm.

if u're using the external charger about an hr or so ,the batt will already be charged fully and nothing will happen even if u leave it on there.

A mount as in alpha mount? All minolta lenses are a mount? Regardless of manual focus or auto focus ones? Sorry to ask such nebbish questions... i come from the world where my sensors are films...
