Sony should do an Apple launch and make every one queue for the available stocks at each outlet and retailers on the same day. That will cut away most of the waiting drama

-_-; Finally... Not sure if you guys want to hear my collection saga but for the 2 bros that PM me... Arrived at 7pm- Shocked when the sales guy told me no A7/a7r stock yet. Delivery still on the way. Sales guy told me he turned away one a7r collection earlier ( might be one of your bros) 730pm- i must have looked impatient that the sales guy sent one of his colleagues to Jurong East IMM Sony Center by MRT to get my order. Specially delivery for me. I asked if i can do it myself( driving is faster), no, must be Sony Center employee. 900pm- Guy arrived. Happy to see Alpha Orange Box, opened up, WOW, nice first touch, turned it over to the front to mount my 35mm.....A7R...-_-; Sales guy quickly apologized and brought me another Alpha Box, opened it up.... to my surprise again...i found the kit lens inside with A7 body...( the boxing is slightly different with body only box)..double -_-; Wonderful...by now i'm really running out of patience...and sales guy say cannot give just me the body only by omitting the kit lens, also cannot give me 7R when i said i'll make do with 7R.. Now at 0910pm, an Indian fellow comes in with delivery note, sale guy tell me it's from Sony and my A7 is at loading dock..so...wait again... 1000pm--finally got my A7 when my sale guys cannot wait and went to collect from loading bay, mounted 35mm and did a quick check for functioning before i left So for the 2 bros that are watching this thread to find whether their A7/r are there at Jurong Point, yes, for sure there's at least 1 x 7R body only, 1 x A7 with kit plus whatever the stock delivery has brought...but please...call before you go if you do not want to waste your time ( 3 hours for me) there. Bugis branch told me end dec then can get 35mm.... Nearly fainted. How to survive... I have no legacy lens.

Lucky a wisma sony salesman helped me to check system and secured 1 set and arranging it for collection.

I bo bian...i cant make it from tomorrow till the weekend. Wanted to give up but you know how kiasuism works..already wait so long might as wait continue...if not wasted.

At one point ( 15 mins before i got my camera) i was contemplating to upgrade to 7R and take the one in stock...but that will deprive of another guy ( possibly one of you guys here) of his 7R...So i wait loh

don't think so hehe.... anyway... battery life seems pretty good on my A7 so far... probably cuz i only use MF legacy lenses.... currently at 400+ shots with 32% left

I might sound stupid but can check wif u. I set C1 button as Magnifier Focus assist. But when I press d button, it shows me a small box n I haf to press again on C1 to magnify it.

Its a stupid additional step. Can any bro assist n advise on how to enable one press on C1 and immediately magnify for manual focus during peaking mode? Thanks. M using adapted lenses on d A7.

It irritates me as well but I don't think its switchable. However, C1 is a v good position to map to focus magnification : )

Anyone know how to set the custom 1, 2 menu? I selected the settings I want but can't seem to save it...
<Edit: Solved, set whatever settings you like in the menu first, then goto menu->camera icon->toggle to 'memory'->highlight 1 or 2 memory postion->'select' and its saved.>

Bro, no worries, as long as the supplied voltage is 5V,which i verified on the Sony charger, you can use whatever 2nd/3rd party charger you can. But the charging current from Sony is only 0.5A...Apple Iphone 4 ( my wife's) is 1A..my S3 charger...2A. Higher current, faster charge....Damn..Sony sure like to short change people.

Granted that they are well built..Apple and Samsung i can trust...others.....forget it.

NP-FW50's specs say it's "Maximum charge current" is 1.02A. I'm not sure if it means that this should be the maximum current it should be taking when you charge the battery.

Googling around, it seems using higher amperage may (in the long run) shorten the battery's life faster than if you would charge it normally.

Yeah but the camera's circuitry should limit the input charge.

well, i got y A7r but i also feel it's a white elephant now. all i can do is stare at it because since i changed systems, i do not currently own any NEX or Alpha lenses and there is totally no stock for any FE lens in Singapore. I called every shop, called sony directly, all no stock. new stocks no idea and most likely in the end dec shipment.
So, i have the body with nothing to shoot it with. I think Sony Singapore made a big mistake by releasing a camera without a kit option and yet not have lenses available to buy.
Ultimately, i went online to order the 35mm from the US who had stock. Pay little more, but at least in 2 days i will be able to start using the camera.

Big thumbs down for Sony's idea of a launch.

In addition to kei's comment, seems nothing we can do about it at this moment. Still prefer d magnification manual focusing on NEX 7 during peaking but guess just have to make do wif d limitation at this point.

Hi, i am impressed with the IQ and compactness of legacy lens. Thinking to get voigtlander 15mm f4.5 while waiting for the stock of FE lens comes in..
may I know where to buy voigtlander lens and the adapter from (which shops?)

You can probably give Chiif Camera a try for Voigtländer glasses, they're based at Excelsior.
