haa.... i have 4 batteries now :) 2 from A7 + PWP and 2 from a nex3n + PWP. but so far bros with manual lenses, battery life should be ok.r

mine is at 400+ shots with 32% left as of this morning. already past the 300 shot battery life as per the reviews so far

Bro, I wasn't even shooting. I was just playing with the settings and whoosh... 10% gone.... But i did tinker with it for quite a long time and I did test some wifi transfer.... Anyone tried the NFC yet as one of the Bros asked? I still can't get it to work.

There we go again… Nothing has changed, Japanese models are still cheaper and have a different firmware which comes with Japanese menus only and as long as nobody cracks it you will never able to flash it with a non-Japanese language firmware even if Sony should ever release one. Big electronic stores in Japan and airports also sell Sony's so called "overseas" models [Asian PAL models which come in English] for rich or dumb tourists but they usually retail at RRP and are more expensive than here. You need some negotiation talent to get it cheaper than here but nothing is impossible. ;)

I got the A7 with kit and 35 mm. I think the AF speed sucks. Sometime cannot focus even. I think it's slower than nex 5t and def slower n more difficult to achieve lock than oly em5. Otherwise, no other complaints so far. I hope that the AF issue can be fixed with a firmware update.

Oh...lack of accessories is irritating. No flash, no battery charger, no lens etc in all the shops. Amazing. And they got marketing people going ard to the shops helping put up display cases. Literally ho Kua Bo ho jia - nice to see but not nice to eat.

Yeah. The lack of accessories support is amazing. When i picked up my A7R i wanted to get the screen protector and they said that there was no stock till december. Prepaid for a spare battery because there's no stock as well.

Try yodobashi or bic camera. They are almost everywhere and tourist friendly. I think ageha has provided u with a comprehensive list of stores. The Japanese models are indeed cheaper than what u get over here but do note that u wont be able to switch the languages if u get a japan domestic model camera body. Wouldnt recommend it if u cant read japanese as menu layout do have subtle differences on previous nex models and other cameras as compared to english models and u might have a hard time figuring out what they are from the english user guide. International sets are about just the same price as what u get over here from what i've noticed during my recent visit to the stores. You should be able to get further discounts with certain credit cards [union pay etc] and tax rebate too.

Anyway if u dont mind having the Japanese menu, these cameras are PAL / NTSC switchable within the menu unlike the previous nex cameras. Good luck with your purchase.

Galaxy S3. Followed the instructions. On NFC, select image, tap.... Nothing happens

Samsung has some funny wifi code going. Most people who have issues pairing the camera are running Samsung.

I have a Sony adapter, which converts the older Sony flashes to the new hot shoe. Haven't tried it on my A7r, but it works fine on my NEX 6.

Will I even wanna carry this chunk out n shoot? Kudos to Zeiss to produce this almost perfect lens but given the choice, I would rather buy the Summilux 50mm f/1.4 ASPH with the same kind of money. Ease of shooting is more important for me as the IQ difference isnt very much in the first place between them.

Actually, the difference is significant. At F1.4 where you may shoot most of the time, the Summilux isn't sharp at the edges, whereas the Otus is. Lenstip just did a comparison...

You can say that our comparison between the Otus and other 50 mm class lenses, available on the market, wasn’t completely fair because the big difference in price. That’s why we also decided to compare the performance of the Otus and that of the Leica Summilux M 1.4/50, a lens which costs roughly the same amount of money. Its resolution was tested by us with the help of the Leica M9 camera and the graph below shows how the Summilux fared in the frame centre and on the edge of full frame.

The Leica M9 camera features a sensor devoid of an AA filter so its MTFs are even a tad higher than those of the Nikon D3x. In order to make our comparison between the Leica and the Zeiss lenses fair you should distract from the values reached by the former some 1-2 lpmm. Still, even if you didn’t do that, you would have to admit the Zeiss wins hands down. In the frame centre the Summilux provides useful images only on stopping down near f/1.8. It also fares very weakly on the edge of full frame, where, near the maximum relative aperture, the image is simply weak until you stop down the aperture to f/5.6. It is clear that the Zeiss performs better even than its very expensive rivals.

The Kenko protectors are also pretty good: http://www.yodobashi.com/ケ&#...1;ア7-7R用/pd/100000001001937879/
I'm not a big fan of the no-name protectors they sell in SG, they often have a slight rainbow effect and catch smudges and scratches too easily. The lack of Kenko, Hakuba and Japanese 1st party screen protectors in SG is annoying.

To me, the Japanese camera shops are almost a "sight" (as in tourist sight) in itself haha!

I second Yodobashi and Bic, but particularly Yodobashi in Shinjuku area West of the train station. Also try MAP Camera in the same area - I've gotten better prices at MAP compared to Yodobashi.

Yup, they actually have camera shops. Waiting for the first real camera shop to open here in SG for years. :)

Can I check if u guys keep the pre focusing on? Nr setting? And also anyone gotten nex lens steady shot to work. Both my kit lens 18-55 and 16-50 din work

NR keep to low. D NR engine overkill at normal setting. D rest I can't comment as I use legacy adapted lenses. Haha
