i got the metabones, spot on for infinity focus with my lenses.

the a7r demo is in wisma already, as well as the rx10.

Anyone know any adapter for legacy lens that does not focus way off from infinity. My cheap fotga adapter for r to m4/3 focus way off from infinity.. My om to m4/3 (no brand)is tiny bit off..

Hawk's Factory helicoid adaptor works for me on both X mount and E mount.

Any news if its going to come early or on 27?

wa steady. the helicoid is the next adaptor i will get hehe....

Hawk Peng's adaptor is really good. I ordered d M to E mount helicoid adaptor on Wednesday. I just received it today shipped over from Taiwan. Fast.

Went down to look at the A7R at TCC this afternoon. Place was small and quite crowded and i was a bit disoriented with so many shooters. The lighting was very harsh but model was rather friendly. But need to test my Summicron 90mm with the Novaflex adaptor with the A7R. First time I was able to do a simple focussing with this manual lens. Overall satisfied with the results and immediately ordered the cam.

Had the opportunity to play with A7 and 7r today. Here is some thoughts.

Firstly, the 7 and 7r feels almost identical, the grip is good but still feel a little small especially when u put heavy lens on it. The built quality is very good and it looks nicer when u actually get hold of it. The dials are smooth and the view finder is really bright. However, the batt grip feels very weird for me. It does not share the same `feel´ as the camera͵ which make switching from vertical to horizontal feel like u have just changed to a different camera. A minus for me.

Secondly, the focus was really quick. Both A7 and 7r can lock on to focus pretty well in the dim room. Although it might not be one of the fastest, it is good enough for me. I tried both the 35 and 55mm, they focus very well, but i will say 35mm is a little faster(not scientific). I also tried the LA-EA4 and 3. EA 4 with 85 1.4, 70-200 2.8 and 16-35 2.8 focus almost as fast as the two FE lenses. On the other hand, I could hardly focus with EA3 using 85 1.4 and 16-35. Most of the time it just hunt then give up. I also asked the representatives there, he also say if u wan fast focus get the EA4. The only problem with that is the squarish bottom feels weird in the hand. I also find the 70-200 hard to balance.

Thirdly, the event is great! There is food and drinks. The sony guys brought adaptors for different mounts. They let us play with expensive A mount glass(nobody was taking care of them so they are quite dirty). The presenter encourage us to use legacy lens.

Overall, its a great event and A7/r are good cameras(din bring SD card so image to share, sorry). The only thing lacking is a fixed aperature ultra wide and a 85mm f1.X, unless u wan to use adaptor.

Impressions following today's hands-on preview:
- A7R is a super sharp resolution monster but that means its also less forgiving
- Between 35mm and 55mm I think 55mm is a much better lens and faster AF
- Adding a grip just makes it feel really weird

Glad I've already preordered it. Love the combination of my 90mm Elmarit with the A7R

Attended the nice intimate event by MS Color yesterday .. Maybe I have gotten used to the 3rd party grip on my RX1r, the grip on the a7r is a little underwhelming as well as the loud shutter. Much less stealthy. Pre-ordered anyway and how i wish the AF is as zippy as my EM1. Oh well .. Hoping for an improved model with 5-axis IS in 2014.

Yeah. A bit disappointed with the results so far with rangefinder glass on the A7r. However, I've had very good success with the Sigma 8-16mm on the NEX series with EA2. However, not that many recently designed full frame wide angle lenses.

go for the a7 then hehe. i also wanted for the R to work well with legacy lenses so i can enjoy the 36mp and lack removed AA filter... but looks like a7 will have to do
