They always bring this preproduction bs up. Sony needs to have truckloads of final units somewhere packed for weeks if not months. They just don't want to destroy any potential illusion before they sold the first dozen thousand cams...

Quite the contrary. The IQ from "preproduction" units you see online and in stores is what you get in a few weeks when you buy it in shops. There is no conspiracy.
If Sony wants to have the product on shelves in a few days all over the world the camera has been final for quite some time.

Any one can enlighten me how will the video function be affected if apsc lens is used ?

Does it auto crop?
When a smaller part of the sensor is used, any different to a FE lens being used with regards to video quality?

None of us have the camera here yet so it's hard to say. But I'm assuming it will be the same as on the a99.

It shouldn't automatically crop as previous full-frame Alphas, in video mode it should be the same as in still mode.

So do u mean, we have the choice of a crop view or an uncrop but heavily vignette view ?

For video it will be 2 megapixel resolution right ?

So one will be from 24 down sample to 2' the other is 10 to 2?

Price of A7 + A7r slightly more than A99. Wondering who will get both especially those with 3rd party lenses. If A99 replacement cost $3.5k, I might consider to invest on A7 series then, 2 is better than one? :think:

Well.. Sony Singapore..the one at Wisma.. is always very disappointing..:bsmilie:..
After so long. There is still no SAL70-400GII and SAL50F1.4 at the display for testing..and there is RX1 only..no RX1r for testing either..

Then..the price tag and item sticker were paste wrongly as well.. was there last week ..so i saw..a CPL 77MM filter ..with price tag stating $159. Caught my attention n i was like "Ok...really?" (The correct pricing should be $299).
Then as I'm about to exit the shop..the lenses in the display..some were not placed in the right position too..the 24F2 and the 35F1.4 were swapped..and the 2470 and 1635 were not correct too. oh my..either they cant be bothered..or.. they dontknow their product well?..

(above is as accurate as last week..when i was there)

not sure when then the A7 will be available at the showroom..I believe..A7R wont be there for testing..hope not though. :bsmilie:
