The OOC jpegs looks great....

Whether I can accept the loud shutter will determine if this is the one for me. I hope it's better in real life usage as compared to what I see in YouTube. Why oh why, Sony, must u make it so loud........ Hoping Sony to have test units in showrooms ASAP.

Still no test units on this island?

When I test the A7r at Shanghai Sony Showroom I was not really concern about the shutter sound its a bit beefier sound than my Nex 7 but I find it like more close to Dslr clunk sound hehe....

Maybe the shutter isn't that different from full-frame DSLR but the tiny body simply offers less isolation and damping...

DSLR is pretty silent nowadays. The sound of the shutter from the YouTube videos suggest it to be louder than the newer DSLRs, eg D7100 and D600. I hope it isn't so in actual use. That is a big big turn off for users who are into certain genres......

Peeping Tom genre?

It may be louder..but nah its not that loud.
not sure why or how can that be a bad thing at all..

You should try it, then let us know if it's an issue. :-D

the loud shutter may be a problem for street shooters who like to shoot candids discreetly, the leicas and the m4/3 bodies will probably be better suited for those applications.

peeping toms hehe... even the loudest shutter won't be an issue as they would likely to be using super long lenses like 400mm / 600mm or even 800 mm haha

or RX1! totally no sound !~ :bsmilie:

preview wrap up on the A7/A7R. there are some comparisons shots using A7/R with the same RF lenses.

He should do the photos for dpreview, they seem to attend the same press holidays anyway, where those critical articles get written. ;) http://www.dpreview.com/galleries/reviewsamples/albums/sony-alpha-7-samples-gallery

Seriously I test a couple of shots using A7r I really didn't notice how loud the shutter is hehe maybe was uber excited but yeah its louder than my nex7 but not screaming loud that you can't even use it for birding hehehe.

hehe i have decided on metabones for the leica M to NEX adaptors. price is lower then the novoflex and voigtlander. plus comes in red! will be a good match on that leica with a red ring hahaha.

It was in Shanghai Sony Shop like 10 days ago :-) Singapore Sony showroom really so late to have new gears diaplay. But the shop didn't allow me to put my SD card as they said its still pre production Model once its realease they would... but I see HK they are allowing users to test and keep the photos.

Steve Huff says A7 is the one to go for if you shoot legacy lenses.

They always bring this preproduction bs up. Sony needs to have truckloads of final units somewhere packed for weeks if not months. They just don't want to destroy any potential illusion before they sold the first dozen thousand cams... ;)
