EVF is future. The biggest evf is on tablette which you can not denny and for today kids who playing smartphone since they know how to take photo with it hardly accept boring ovf.

But I don't think technology is up to there yet. Cost will b another issue too.
I still prefer ovf thou.. peering thru one just feels more right then the evf.. #purephotography yo... Nikon! OK.. start flaming.. lol

Still think Sony is creating history with the a7/a7r... we live in exciting times.. thumbsup to Sony.. would love to See Any firmware updates or later addition to this series when their dedicated lenses are out. I do not rule out the possibility of pulling the trigger for this cam If future user reviews are positive..

well i am pretty sure Sony will already have its plan to release future versions of the A7mkII or AX etc that will let it use optional EVFs with a hotshoe mount like the RX1, or figure out an even better way to minaturize its tech to have the EVF on the side like the NEX6/7

Next derevative will be an A6 with full-frame sensor at a lower price point!

Good choice. Think pre-FLE will sell like hot cakes since it will not have the front or back focus issues with live view of A7. Most Leica users prefer FLE mainly because it resolves the front or back focus issues with range finder. This is provided that the A7R or A7 does not have magenta cast problem, which seems to be the case like Nex 7.

Rendering on d pre FLE seems nicer to me. Just personal.

I've read in Zite there's already some patents that Sony submitted for a NEX 5 body FF..... It will be the cheaper sibling of A7x if that's true I am not sure hehe

If that's the case APS-C and Sony seem to be history. Maybe the A3000 series will be the only survivor.

haha.... i just spent $900 on a voigtlander nokton 50mm F1.1 to be used on the A7 with no camera body to test it with! any good/reasonably priced Leica M to E mount convertors to recommend?

hmmm interesting on par with D800 but slighly behind D800E.

with the AA filter missing i expected the A7R to perform similar/better than the D800E.

haha oh well... i am going for the A7 anyway

oh man.... i haven't been this excited about a new camera for a long time.... To think my first impression on seeing the A7 design was "uglier full frame version of OMD"

haha there are lots of small MF lenses that can be adapted onto the sony sometimes i wonder if the AF motors really need to take up such a big space. I was comparing the nokton 50 1.1 vs my canon 50 1.2L.... the canon is so so so so much fatter....
