Bro Thoth, is the 19mm sigma u have the ex dn version? Is this ex dn version same as the ART?

Tx bro ricleo n Thoth..
Most welcome.... bro ryanlio... R U staying in the east too? U can try out my Sigma 19mm for yourself if U dun own one at the moment...
Just thinking. With the gap removed off the Sigma, will it expose the big sensor to more dust, and possible risk of scratching it if any particles were to drop out from the lens electronics components?
Not a mechanical engineer or lens designer, but won't a screw gets loose or some glue particles get out?
Good to have this alternative of cheaper and great wide angle, but just thinking if there is hidden risk?
Bro... U sound like a Hypochondriac... LOL... :bsmilie:
Bo pian. My camera weakest point has always been the sensor. Sent my M9P for sensor change due to spots or dusts that can't be cleaned on the sensor. Not affecting the image but since can change without paying the super price within warranty period, just sent loh. Lucky it is free, if not I can get a new premium Camera for the cost.
Most dust on sensor still can be cleaned. Scratches will be different story.

haha normally screws won't "come-off" so easily unless you go and drop the whole camera? by then your A7/r will be chui too hehe...
dust the baffle doesnt make a difference because it is not a sealed to the optical elements and in fact optical elements moves during AF. dust still moves in and out freely if there is any, with or without baffle.
alternative is to use a sel 10-18 without modification. you get 13-16mm without removing baffle. 13-18 with baffle removed.
If have ways to even mod it better, make it totally full frame compatible... and bro... u will be laughing to the bank... LOL
Actually, sigma lenses are quite famous for having loose screws. Quite a lot of users have this issue even with their best 35mm f1.4 ART series which is the best built in the whole sigma line. The loosen screws inside the lens causes rattling sound, and you can read more about it. No drops in camera or lens, and this symptoms happen as soon as a few days of use only for some users.
Maybe the gap could be covered somehow?
Just providing a conservative view. Enjoy this great lens!
