Pick up d Nikon 20/4 to test tomm in daylight. D 21/4 CV cannot make it. Haha.

Here's a resource I found useful…the Olympus 21mm f/3.5 is not expensive and images I've seen from it looked good: http://www.16-9.net/lens_tests/best19_21.html

Going the Nikon route, your best bet would probably be the 20mm f/2.8 AIS, short of the higher-priced (and not much better) 18mm f/3.5. Don't pixel-peep on any of the Nikon wides… ;p

Will check them out bro. Tks.

CV famous for a few lenses, but not the color skopar and most of their non aspherical lenses.

You are looking for wide angle? If not eyeing for wide aperture ones and using mainly for landscape and infrastructure, try Zeiss C Biogon 21mm f4.5. Very small and compact, but very sharp!

RF lens bro. Color cast issue?

I have tried the app as well... The app is almost everything you need except for one thing. I can't use bulb mode.... Or am I missing something

Is it true that PDAF is causing the camera to hunt during videos? I read somewhere that this is a tendency for PDAF. If so, that I think I should disable the PDAF function in the A7. Seems like there is no apparent benefit for this additional function in the A7. Any thoughts?

Yes, it is a RF lens for Leica M mount.

Not too sure if got color casting issue, but it is one of the sharpest 21mm lenses available. You can try it at Chiif store (if he has stocks).

Lucky I have got my superb FE35 F2.8 with me. Unbelievable sharpness and details with spot on AF, coupled with nice smooth bokeh. Will be a permanent lens until the 55FE arrives for comparison. Might just stay with this 35FE as it is just so easy to bring around and seems "harmless" to subjects.....

btw those interested in the FE55 F1.8 might wanna order online if you want the lens fast. Had a chat with one of the sales staff in Sony and he mentioned stocks for the lens are delayed and estimated to arrive in Sg only in mid jan

I am not a video person so can't comment. But I leave pdaf on as I thought its a tad faster when it's on. Or could be placebo effect on me haha

Tried out the smart remote. Pretty happy with the refresh rate. Another good thing is that you get full ISO control. It even goes into focus magnification when activated on the camera.

Only improvement I thought would be good would be the display of focus peaking as well.

I'm waiting for the time lapse app that's currently available for NEX series only. Don't mind to pay if it's good. Any bros here using it?

I was roaming Peninsula today and saw a number of canon 55 fd and fl 1.2 on sale . Must be the shop owners been reading this post thread lol.

The main advantage of moving to FF is you can boost your ISO without a hit to image quality. I believe with the D90, ISO1600 is probably the max usable. With the A7, you can probably find ISO3200 quite usable. However, FF sensor with F1.8 gives a narrower DOF than on your APS-C sensor. With the A7/A7R, CDAF is used when there isn't sufficient light. However, when in low light situations, edge detection becomes harder and as a result AF will be impacted (hunting). Thus it might make it difficult to photograph active kids

Thanks for all the valuable information

I don't mind trying out manual focus.

Seems like Slr lens is kind of expensive.

What other options do you guys reckon that I can consider for full frame ,super fast (good with low light) and optimum image (with beautiful bokeh)

Actually most SLR lenses r cheaper than rangefinder lenses. A good Bokeh can be achieved easily wif a f/1.4 lens within 200-300 dollars.

Why the 21/4 cv cannot make it? I'm looking at ultra wides as well. Considering the sony sal 20 2.8 as well at this point. Or wait for sony's zeiss fe ultrawide?

Actually as thoth mentioned slr lens are cheaper especially if u don't mind the bulk and are willing to go 3rd party. Just bite the bullet and spend 300 on the la ea4 which gives you fast af depending on the lens. I've bought tamron 28-75 2.8 for around $500. Sony 50 1.4 for around $600. Also have the sigma 35 1.4,costs more than the fe 35, but double the aperture size.
