Anyone interested in this? The only downside for this is Sony may void the warranty??

Just did a comparison between the A7 and A7S.
The A7S mount is a full metal piece, while the A7 is plastic+mental
not sure about A7R
same as A7:

Guess, no harm changing to the metal replacement since A7S comes with it. Or see if we can get A7S replacement part.
Here's good news regarding that.Anyone interested in this? The only downside for this is Sony may void the warranty??

I emailed Sony SG today, as follows:
"May I inquire about Sony's official position with regard to the newly released TOUGH E-Mount lens mount replacement from Fotodiox, will using it void the existing warranty on my camera? As it seems to be a better full metal replacement to the existing hybrid plastic-metal lens mount, I am considering getting it, provided it does not affect my product warranty.

Hope to get a response soon. Thank you in advance"
And here is their reply:
"Thank you for your email to Sony Singapore. With regards to your enquiry, I understand your concern on the warranty matter. I would like to inform you that the warranty for your camera will not be voided. However, you may register the product warranty if it is not registered yet.
For further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me at 6544-8600."
I guess many will be going for it, including myself.

Obviously this technician knows nuts about this matter.I sent in my A7r during last Friday, to fix the light leak issue and also inquire if it is possible for Sony to change the hybrid mount to the A7s' metal mount.
Here is an update to share.
-Sony's stand is a firm NO
-I asked if it is due to Sony's unwillingness to change it or it is technically impossible, technician said that the parts for A7r and A7s are not the same.
-Technician said that he can provide me with the part number then I can order the parts and change the lens mount myself
-I blur, because he said that the parts are not the same for both models but I can order the parts and change it myself??? :dunno:
-Technician stressed that, any modification to the lens mount, will void the camera's warranty(Fotodiox Tough E-Mount users please take note)
-I asked the technician why Sony cannot change it for me since the parts can be ordered?
-Technician said that if I change the lens mount myself, and I quote him "it will be my problem".
-The A7s metal mount will cost between $40 to $50
-I questioned the technician again and he asked me to disregard his comments on ordering the A7s lens mount :dunno:
Obviously this technician knows nuts about this matter.
I got the official black and white email reply (see my post above) from Sony, saying it will NOT void warranty if the lens mount were to be replaced with the Fotodiox one. I would believe this rather than this technician that seems unsure what to say.
How ? Can change or not ? =(
