Official Sony A7 or A7r discussion thread (Season II)

How's the Hawk Factory? Is the quality good? Deciding between this and the Voigtlander M to NEX Close Focus Adapter. By the way aren't "Nex" and "Sony E" the same thing?

Exact same thing and same version, prob just packaging lol.

Anyway, ya; the adapter works great. Sturdy, Good fit and it reduces the 1m min focusing distance to around 28cm for the 35 Summilux. I haven't tried the voigtlander version though.

I skipped the metabones version as the fit to my lens was so tight only Richard at T K could push it in with confidence.

Thanks for the feedback. Very tempted by the Hawk because it's so much cheaper than the Voigtlander. ;)

Considered the voigtlander before but found the price too stiff and the hawk does the same :)
If u do buy the voigtlander , share on how's the usage wor

No one here reply , even the Sony guy also no reply so I just wrote in. the content of my message: Dear Sony, on behalf of the A7/7R users in SG, may I inquire about the availability of the accessory pictured in which my counterparts from overseas have received out of goodwill from Sony to fix the light leak issue in the Sony A series FF camera? I do understand that impact on IQ is limited to long exposures and high ISOs but I really hope Sony SG can help with this to build better goodwill among its customer base. thank you.

Ok, no reply from Sony as of today.

Just sent a chaser email.

Recently very lucky, manage to get the latest version of the rokkor 58 f1.2 at a very reasonable price after poisonnjng from bro Thoth. Hahaha. Very awesome piece of glass. Its a piece that probably people will not want to let go easily. As for the cv 50 f1.5, bought and sold it off. Din really like the ca. But that being said, the bokeh is awesome and it does work fine on portrait.

Glad U like the Rokkor bro... Happy shooting with it... post some shots k... Tks

I have the voigtlander VME close focus. Its solidly built. It is slightly thicker and a bit heavier than the VM-II (non close focus).
I believe hawk has the same built. The one problem with VME is I find the helicod very hard to turn especially for heavier lens..

My solution is to find and fix a position i used mostly. Will only turn it unless I need infinity or very very close focus. Think go down to 27mm.

one capable lens and already v sharp at F1.5. any ca is gone by F2 which is just one aperture click down

plus it looks darn awesome

Oh keke. I have exactly the same setup for 50 1.5 (chrome) in mind except for the L-Bracket and wrist strap (looks cool though).

Interesting. Not for me though. It will b an essential portraiture lens for me. Cheers.

For me I'm 35-135 guy so this lens (Rokkor 58/1.2) if I could get a good deal will be in my wish list, even though I have the Canon FL 55/1.2 I still like the Minolta Rendering

can share an image of how the hawk's helicoid looks like from the front and back now? The latest ones should be Version 4 and wanna see what is the difference haha...

I have the voigtlander.... build quality and cosmetics is definitely up there, however is it worth $100 more that the hawk's? maybe not unless you are pairing it with a chrome/silver lens hehe.... I bought mine 2nd hand when it was quite new, hence the price differnce is not as big.

was resisting for long time even the FE55 I have resisted for sometime when I finally found a good deal I dive in. Same for the Lux-80, when I seek advise from someone he utter the word knn/f*** and other bad words and shouted "don't think just get!"

Initially I didn't like the lux-80 I guess I was still learning how to use it now I am liking it. Not becoz its rare (that I was told by almost everyone)

lolz
