16-35 F4 sounds good to me. Any release on expected pricing. Or perhaps wanna play a guess the price game? :):)

Should be the same ballpark as the 24-70
 

Sony new flagship store @ 313 has 70200F4 , 2470F4 and couple of A mount lens & LAEA3/4 for trying .

anyone received the complimentary $50 discount voucher from sony singapore online to be used at this new flagship sony store at 313 somerset?
 

the zeiss 1635 f2.8 and zeiss 2470 f2.8 for A mount are of the same price at the moment....I expect the FE variants to be likewise.

If it exceeds our expectations, It'll b an essential lens for a lot of A7/R users.

it's a lens i've been waiting for as well and honestly the only other native lens that i might get in addition to those i already have... unless they release a 28mm or 24mm prime...

Lets just hope Sony dun repeat the FE 24-70 fiasco and get it right this time...

Yea but i do forsee a lot of users who buy this lens and have never shot uwa / wide to complain about distortion and corner sharpness with this upcoming 1635...

In all honesty ,distortion and corner performance problems are pretty much a norm for all uwa lenses so as long as it's all reasonable at the wider end like center sharpness ,no color cast and reasonable af , i'm sold...fingers crossed...

it's gotta at least outperform the 10-18 at equivalent focal lengths that's for sure, if not i'll have to just go for canon's f2.8 equivalent.

Hello, im interested to buy a7r but have a few concerns.

1) i know the auto focus isnt as good as DSLR but how about manual focus? Is it easier to MF using F 1.4 lens than DSLR?

Manual focus works quite effectively with focus peaking. Best to try for yourself at the Sony stores.

Having focus peaking and being able to magnify the view helps MF.
On DSLR, you won't get focus peaking or magnified view through the viewfinder, unless you use the screen for live view.

I'm using A7r mostly with Minolta MC 58mm f1.4 and I find MF pretty easy. I usually shoot candid shots with it. The other lens I love is the Minolta MD 28-85. Since A7r does not have IBIS and legacy lenses don't have OSS coupled with the high resolution A7r sensor, It is challenging setup

Where did you get the DF elements ... I am not a fan of changing name but I love making my cameras nameless...
 

I bought adhesive backed leatherette and cut to fit the A7. you can get pre-cut versions from aki asahi.
