Official Sony A7 or A7r discussion thread (Season II)

Ya it is. Cost 63usd from ebay. Need to add in another 11usd for shipping. Not exactly cheap but seems pretty decent.

Thanks Bro Rko, wondering if Tkfoto has brought in this model.. Will check with them..

Hope the price also good news la
720g =.=

During launch period I could be in Shanghai for biz trip... see got chance to check it out or not... If price is good after fruitful testing, might be snapping it to fulfil my "Noctilux" itch for awhile... LOL

Its a good time now for alpha users. Finally have some decently priced performers after a few years being "lost" and trying to find an identity. Lets see if the new dslrs/dslts can make me go back to A mount.

Did anyone notice that the panorama mode does not stitch properly after the firmware update?

I shot non-moving scenes in portrait orientation, sweeping as levelled as I can from left to right.
The picture turned out with very obvious uneven/jagged horizon.

What's lens did u use? Focal length wise: Normal or wa lens. Could it be distortion on the lens?

On an 24-70 F4 @ 24mm
I have to do a few retries in order to get a properly stitched one.

Oh. D infamous distortion lens.

Looking at the pictures I've attached, I think it is more of the stitching algorithm rather than distortion.
As I've mentioned, out of the many tries, there are a couple of keepers.

Possibly but seriously quite inconsistent to be reliable no?

Only negative is the base plate dosent full extend over the battery side and some might complain its ugly but hey, it saves some weight

I use the Really Right Stuff plate, it covers the entire bottom of the camera quite nicely. The quality is superb.

Nice! Share some real world samples from that big white lens leh hehe
