Official Sony A7 or A7r discussion thread (Season II)

How did you actually remove the strap connectors?

Hmmm same way the strap connectors are removed from oly and other nex cameras. Remove the black plastic, and remove the triangular connector as you would from a key chain

My 2 cents worth knowledge... 1. Sony lenses no international warranty, it only apply for camera body. 2. I never did so, never kena stop before. Should be ok if u place it inside your checked in luggage. But dunno if security tighter due to MH370 case... Good luck bro
Sony lens and body has international warranty (they call it tourist limited warranty).

What u need to do is:
1. Purchase a hk set with hk local warranty
2. Walk to the nearest sony centre (near to mtr, the fortress and city bank junction)
3. Go up and exchange for a piece of paper (your tourist warranty)

Just got my A7R from Sin City shop@DCfever. Forgot to take my money but they did return me when i went back. Sarpork! Anyway got a couple of questions: 1. Is there international warranty for Zeiss FE55F1.8? 2. Do you guys dismantle your package when coming back to Singapore?

DC fever is good. The other choice is digico (or something) at level 2-3. Can't remember exactly. It's the shop that sell only alpha. U see a lot of oreeeen color.

Yep..i just realised the plastic can be clipped off haha..silly me...i removed it already..thanks

Curious, does metabones able to transmit lens data to the camera? In this context, the Nikon G lenses. :)

Just received my pk to nex adaptor from eBay.
Works great with my FA lenses.
Unfortunately my mistake to buy one without aperture ring.
So my DA* 55 can't be adapted.

Is there any shop that sells pk to nex adaptor in Singapore?

Thank you

So [(sr5)<--- almost certain] rumours that the a7s is gonna be targeted at the dslr video crowd with 4k video and and a 12mp lower mp sensor "might" be promise of amazing low light stills..Anyone giving it a thought already? The 12mp would be really awesome at giving really clean sharp video output at 16:9 with 1:1 pixel readout but the lower mp count would also mean a compromise for landscape stills....decisions decisions...

If the price is reasonable this would be a perfect video solution..If im not wrong ,at the moment in the consumer-level camera sector..only the Cannon 1dx[c]does 4k On a Full Frame sensor and it costs like 10k usd...

I'm glad they gave it a 12mp instead of a 16/18mp if not my a7r would have to leave me real soon.

I use a gariz half case which has a additional metal plate at the bottom to provide a little more height and the tripod hole is offset to the right as well. Many ppl use a L bracket.

hmm, pretty new to l-bracket. Do you mean attaching the tripod mount onto the l-bracket? Currently using the benro head, not too sure how it will work out.

thanks for the tips!

i use a L plate as follows. The L plate doesnt interfere the lcd from tilting upwards, but the downwards motion is hindered by a few degrees.

without the L part

with the L part
