Both were the first lenses to use Aspherical element (hand ground nonetheless). Definitely will be sharper than the Rokkor la...

They were not designed for Bokeh sake anyway... Predominantly to bring sharpness and contrast to another level... yet I find their rendering pleasing... not like the present clinical rendering...

I think I've seen similar issue with Olympus EP/EPL series before... looks like sensor issue if I am not wrong I cant remember what Oly model has this issue...

Back on topic...anyone here think that us A7/R users are Sony's version of guinea pig to develop a killer 50mp A9/R? just like Ferrari did with their FXX program haha. I believe the A9/R will finally push those army of fence sitters to jump ship

If like what they claimed was due to reflections off the sensor (or the aa filter), why other cameras don't have such issues reported? The glass plate used for the a7 sensor is different?
