Official Sony A7 or A7r discussion thread (Season II)

But i think negative remark is useless, i know some sellers can remove negative remark zz kena once before, shipping sibeh slow and i left negative remark. Few days later the negative remark gone...wtf

eBay are very strict on the feedback system now...seller's cannot leave a tit for tat negative as long as the buyer have paid. Seller cannot remove any negative feedback unless he can show case that the feedback was unjust

Hi ... Seen lots of photos and review of Rokkor 58mm f1.4 in this forum. How about the 50mm f1.7 version? Should be able to fix on sony right? I am looking at a few less than 50 USD buy from eBay. Hopefully to start off my manual lens journey "cheaply" ... Cheers ;)

Anyone know the street price of the FE55 that is launching this week?

U must have an adaptor

Darn, I was hoping for the usual shops to sell at 12xx... MSRP might as well buy from sony!

u might be able to get $12xx...just not now since it just launch. and if stocks are real limited

Just came back from Funan with a friend who was looking around for the FE55 as well.

As usual, Sony Stores are slower than the shops in Funan. He bought one set home after visiting many shops, but at same RRP. Many hiadees in the forum bought those stocks too, some would have bought imported sets from the shops without local warranty though, and Sony Sg will not recognise since their batch number has not started (their official stocks will only come in as per advised by Sony stores, which is on 29 Jan).

Stocks are very limited, so no chance to bargain. If you don't want it at RRP, the next buyer is just behind you waiting.

The Sony Stores are supposed to have their stocks ready on 29 Jan (if no delays again), but it will just be enough for people who pre-ordered from them.

I guess the price will stay at RRP for quite some time. If you already have other lenses to shoot, perhaps you should wait for healthy stocks when you test out the lens first from friends who have it.

Some users like it, some don't - that explains why a few 55FE was sold over the past few weeks at BNS.

Personal opinion. It is a little harder to shoot accurately due to the thin dof, if you shoot at F1.8. Also, the 55mm does not have OOS, but the longer focal length is more difficult to shoot than the 35mm FE, especially on a A7R. Discussed quite widely in the forums, and you can do a quick search.

Also, though 55FE is a sharp lens like the 35FE, but some may not like the modern look, which some described it as "predictable" and boring. Not like those classic lenses that many bros here are using, with unique bokeh qualities. Some like busy bokeh, some like bright halos type bokeh. Diferent users, different preference. So those rushing to get the 55FE may likely sell it later as not to their taste.

I guess we should be seeing more 55FE in the BNS not long after the usual initial impulsive buy/queue, so if you are not in a rush, wait patiently at the BNS threads!

wa not bad hehe got shops selling already. once again before sony stores haha...

regarding the ease/difficulty of use of the 55 FE, I actually find much it easier to focus and shoot/recompose etc and get good results compared to the 1.4 and 1.2 and 0.95 primes i was using previously, with more things in focus at F1.8 allowing more margin of error.

The 4 Sony Pro shops will each have a small handful of lens available during the launch, and most already over-booked. The next batch will be another month away, according to what I was told. If you're looking for discounts over rrp, you might have to wait for another 3-4 months until the the supply stabilised and the demand cools down.

I don't have a problem as well, just thought of making this awared by other users.

If you have been using those really wide aperture lenses such as f0.95, f1.2, f1.4, this should be easier.

Just wait for the lenses on BNS

Question on the handheld twilight feature. Even if I use a f2.8 lens, why is the mode only giving a constant f 4?

Or buy one 24-70 at holiday in japan and use immediately like me....ha ha
