Official Sony A7 or A7r discussion thread (Season II)

Just curious , it seems the Sony has released an accessory that resolved the light leak issue. It's a simple band that u put over the joint between mount and lens.

Not that the light leak affects me as I don't really do that long of exposures , just curious.

Can I checks as anyone here got this from Sony?

Sony should offer it free.. just like when apple gives free case to resolve the infamous antenna issue...

interesting, I wouldn't mind one of these rubber bands as well even if I don't do much long exposures with ND filters.

looks like it can even provide some additional "weather resistance" and cover the metal orange ring.

I read that it was offered free when users complained about the light leaks causing issues with long exposures.

The item exists. Anyone here in Sony forum who has contacts with the Sony guys? If its Olympus and Fuji I can help but for Sony, i'm still a 2 day old noob.

Ok I ask another friend's friend who is working in Sony. hehe not the Sony "guy" Thoth referring to :p

A7/R/S could even go extreme like my friend with his A7 and Pentax professional series DA* zoom lens. In this case it is the Pentax DA* 60-250 f4 SDM Weather Resistance lens. The result is really good!

hey,

i have an external charger for the A7/A7s battery to give away. Its a spare anyway lol.

Note that u will need a travel adapter for this as its a 2 pin (flat pins) head, otherwise it works perfectly. This one is a 3rd party one hor.

Self collect either at Punggol my place or Dover MRT in weekday early afternoons. PM me if interested, first to collect gets it.

someone go write in to Sony?

No one here reply , even the Sony guy also no reply so I just wrote in.

the content of my message:

Dear Sony,

on behalf of the A7/7R users in SG, may I inquire about the availability of the accessory pictured in which my counterparts from overseas have received out of goodwill from Sony to fix the light leak issue in the Sony A series FF camera?

I do understand that impact on IQ is limited to long exposures and high ISOs but I really hope Sony SG can help with this to build better goodwill among its customer base.

thank you.

Hi to the bros here.

I am using a pentax 135mm f2.5 with fotga pen to nex adapter.

Is it normal for me to not able to use it to shoot 'infinite' shots?

It seems like I have no issues with close up shoots but if I want to shoot an object say, a building I couldnt get everything to be in focus
