Official Sony A7 or A7r discussion thread (Season II)

should be the same

Material: Built in Metal Bayonet & Plastic Body

haha, yah I won't even be surprised if they were all made in the same China factory, just stamped with different brand. :)
I think the Fotodiox one (Amazon.com) is also the same. Almost bought that, but shipping is crazy expensive.

I chose the Fotga from this seller because I also bought a bunch of lens adaptors so I can play with M, MD/MC, OM lenses.

I got the Fe 35 but will miss my sigman35 1.4 bokeh.
The branded adapter like metabone and the vol... Very pricy.

Looking for cheap adapter at eBay. $27 with shipping.

Try to see how sigma 35 and nikon 16-35 perform in a7.

If is good will grab nikon 85 1.8.

Search on net not much of review for nikon lens on a7.

Hmm.. I still can't decide if it is right to jump to Sony Mirrorless FF from DSLR .

Again the price of Sony seems crazy resale value for used.

But tempted as the weight and seize for its compactness.

I say go for it. Although the native lenses are not much to shout about, the FE 35 and 55 are indeed gems.
If u bypass autofocus and try legacy, u will get addicted and the world is your oyster... u got so much choice to express yourself ...
Then u will wonder why didnt u switch earlier??

Just sharing from someone totally converted to legacy lenses....

As I coming from DSLR and i am not a fan of manual focus lens. Guess what now I have Nikon 50 1.2, and CV 35 1.2 and the only one FE 35 F2.8 i keep because my wife can use it haha.

You will love the size and the weight.

bro overworked is right, you will think "Then u will wonder why didnt u switch earlier??"

I'm coming from shooting 5dmk3, now... I'm hooked on manual focus with those legacy lens!

Why not try to keep ur dslr if you can afford not selling it. The focusing speed and feel is very different from a mirrorless. Get the mirrorless for the legacy lenses. The feel and look of the picture from these legacy lenses just cannot be replicated from a modern dslr. My 5dmk3 gives a very clinical sharp look while the legacy lenses gives a lot more character to the picture. My few cents worth.

Of course the entire experience is different. It's the size that ables me to lug it around on a daily basis. I'm pleased with the Sony
