Hmmm...ok then. But a gd thing is that all these Antonovs have a high wing which promotes more efficient lift, similarly for C-5 and C-17.
A senior LAE used to asked me "what is the similarities between Antonov aircraft and the birds of mother nature?", the answer? Their designers think alike. :bsmilie:

But there are also many other planes with high wings, even like our C-130 and Fokker 50. So i presume all designers think alike. :bsmilie:

Yup, but every Antonov aircraft are "exclusively" high wings with the exception of a couple of biplanes and proposed passenger airliners that never went into production. ;)

Wow Great.. Thanks for the advice..I almost wanted to rent a lens this weekend just to shoot.. haha.. I will be trying some shots this weekend..!! 3 more days to weekend...

I will be there on both sat and sunday, might bump into you. :) Happy spotting, let's hope the weather is a clear good sky with a beautiful sun shining on our targets :D

I think Antonov are only known for their cargo planes. But heard that Russian planes do get into a lot of problems.

Antonov recently introduced the An-148 (a regional jet airliner) into commercial service with its launch customer, Aerosvit Airlines, back in June of this year.

The "problems" in Russian aircraft are probably due to sloppy maintenance rather then any inherent design weakness of the aircraft itself, as it is most of these Russian aircraft dates back to the cold war and the maintenance man-hours per flight hour (MMH/FH) is already extremely high.

One think we know for sure .. russian planes r designed to be rugged .. BAe called their planes flying tanks. Fair enough the landing gears of the Tu-154 were being compared to that of the british challenger main battle tank's tracks the results were the LGs could take loads 80% dat of the tank's .. Crzy huh?

Cowz.

Hmm.. I suppose its 9V-SYJ, its a B777-300..

cheers! :)
The most visible method to differentiate between a B772 & B773 without relying on the registration number is in the total numbers of passenger plug doors the aircraft have, a B772 have only 4 passenger plug doors on each side whereas a B773 have 5 passenger plug doors on each side (1 additional emergency passenger plug door on each side directly above the wing root fairing). ;)

Here's my small collection of shots.

There is some thing about those wing lets that really make these aircrafts sexy :bsmilie:

Hi does any of you use the canon 18-200mm IS or Tamron 18-270mm superzoom for aircraft spotting?

I used the 18-200mm IS camera for that, works well for me.

Anyway, I was at Terminal 1 taking photos today, got 2 specials . One is the Air Asia Skytrex winner (Best low cost carrier livery) 9M-AHO Air Asia A320, and the other is the Jetstar SeaWorld A320 VH-VQQ. :)

U're right. These are the 'over wing' doors and slideraft design is also different. For B773 and B773ER, differences are the raked wingtips (also on B772LR) and the larger GE90-115B engines.

I see them just about everyday at work.

Really? I must be really be out-dated. Anyway, looking forward to the weekends. :)

Cos the place i'm working is at the apron area. Step out of my office, planes are everywhere. :)
