The Kalita 747 accident was most probably due to a fuselage defect resulting from hard landing.
Nope, the pilot-in-command got the heebee-jeebees, freaked out and elected to abort the take-off roll 12 knots above V1 when the No. 03 PW JT9D suffered a compressor stalled after the engine ingested a kestrel (Om nom, nom nom nom... Yummy.). ;)

Federale Overheidsdienst Mobiliteit en Vervoer: Air Accident Investigation Unit,
Final report on the accident that occurred on 25 May 2008 at Brussels Airport on a Boeing B747-209F registered N704CK
.

Hi fellas,

Being too busy to shoot as often as I wished to..here's some of the photos I took in a span of two months.
Very nicely taken! Though there seems to be some sort of haloing effect around the Cardig Air Boeing 737-300, was that deliberately introduced during post-processing? :dunno:

Post edited: Opps, I stand corrected after further research on the SIA B777 ETOPS-180 rating.

Hey..thanks for the compliment!! Guess I was blessed with good weather for all the shots.

The PP was introduced by accident for the Cardig Air shot..:bsmilie:

Cowz probably meant that the flight crew has absolutely no choice but to take-off after V1 without overrunning the runway, a RTO after the 80 knots high speed phase and before V1 is only executed in the event the aircraft is absolutely incapable of sustain flight.

CKS B747-209F/SCD post-V1 RTO...

Correct,

exactly wat i meant :X
Sry folks .. still an engineer in the making so explanation may not be dat clear cut ^^

Ouch to the accident ..

Cowz.

Nice shots

What location did you get the second shot from? :)

Mmm, but the race is only 1.7km long .. I suppose the 747 will b doing a max take-off reject. I wonder who will win .. I suppose for porsche can do the 1-100km much faster than the 747 but the max speed still goes to the jet .. wonder if 1.7km is enough to bring the hulk to momentem :D

Cowz.
Just to show how quick a B747 is able to reach Vr with a minimal takeoff mass.

Yup, took it from Changi Business Park. Actually you can also try Tanah Merah Besar, but its at your own risk. ;p
Very inspirational with Changi prison next to you. :bsmilie:

Wow, another expensive hobby.
The RC aircraft are powered by Advanced Micro Turbine (AMT) or by some other models? :dunno:

Wow Boss, you really good !! For AMT not so popular in SG, here mainly are Jetcat, Wren, Simjet & Kingtech Engines.. From $3k per engine:o

LOL, I know nuts about RC aircraft and the only reason I heard of AMT was because of this. :bsmilie:

On average, how much do you spend on 1 aircraft and where do you fly them in Singapore? Is a permit from CAAS required?

6 seconds from the start of the take-off roll to Vr. ;)

Wow? Wat's the Vr at that W0 ..

Since W0 is quite low then i suppose Vr shld b much lower than W0max rite?

But it's quite interesting to note wat's the SLO ...

Cowz.
