Actually despite the appearance, when a B744 passenger variant is converted into a freighter the upper deck just immediately aft of the galley beyond the Type A emergency exits are sealed up albeit with an access panel to facilitate inspection, the floor beams between Station (STA) 780 towards STA 902 where the windows are plugged in the photos are removed before being reinforced with tension ties along with the flight control cables rerouted making it not much difference interior space wise from a B744F freighter variant.to answer the question, I remember only the -400 pax is stretched however there are also -400 freighters that are stretched, those are BCF converted freighter from the normal passenger, the appearance is quite same. Only difference no nose cargo door but cant tell when in flight anyway.

you can see the difference from the BCF below
Also eager to try the dreamliner but will be next year …. hope they don't reduce the dreamliner frequency. Right now half the JAL dreamliner fleet is on SIN leg daily![]()

This is done so as to maintain the 118" maximum height capacity limit of Unit Load Devices (ULDs) in the main cargo deck below that particular area which will otherwise restrict the maximum height capacity limit to 96" high ULDs.
I think jetstar will get their 787 next year...and some wil be base in singapore..

May i know the lens used and at which spot you took this photo at? I'm interested in plane spotting too, so i'm learning.![]()
Thanks a whole lot, will research on the spots.Makinen85 said:It depends on your location actually, currently now the planes are landing at changi business park area. And about march to sept or oct will land at changi beach carpark 5 area.
The lens used from the last 2 post, was the canon 100-400mm. I rented it because i want to see which lens suits me when shooting the "birds". Would like to try the sigma 50-500mm lens if it is available for rent before i can decide to buy it.
Took last Weekend

You see, the floor beams of the the upper deck actually "protrudes" into the main cargo deck thus the height restriction in that particular area below the upper deck even for the B744F freighters, the nose cargo door is more often used for lengthy offsize cargo (or nonstandard ULDs) that won't otherwise fit through the aft side cargo door. Thanks Orion, I don't have in-dept knowledge, then I wondered how 118" is loaded w/o nose door. Did a search n found my answer. Certainly learned something from you.Actually despite the appearance, when a B744 passenger variant is converted into a freighter the upper deck just immediately aft of the galley beyond the Type A emergency exits are sealed up albeit with an access panel to facilitate inspection, the floor beams between Station (STA) 780 towards STA 902 where the windows are plugged in the photos are removed before being reinforced with tension ties along with the flight control cables rerouted making it not much difference interior space wise from a B744F freighter variant.
