it has beean a while now since i stoped shooting aircraft, share with you all this 2 shots i took today.
wonder whats that black and white thingy ? don't remember seeing that before on this aircraft.

Thats the hook for the hook wire, used during emergency.

I just upgraded my $80 PnS to a more decent 2nd hand Pana FZ35. Nowhere near the quality of even entry level DSLR pics where you can read all the little wordings and see every detail, but beggars can't be choosers.

Was at my workplace yesterday, managed to get a few shots:

CommercialAirplanes

KLM B44-406F PH-CKB

SIA Cargo B44-412F 9V-SFJ

PIA%252520A330-301%252520RP-C3337.jpg

Philippines Airlines A330-301 RP-C3337

Thai%252520AirAsia%252520A320-216%252520HS-ABJ.jpg

Thai AirAsia A320-216 HS-ABJ

Everything (except the last one) was taken at 486mm at extreme distances (>500m). All ISO 80, F5.6.

Any C&C possible?

And, does anyone know how to identify this?

Its a SIA 744 alright, but a tall truck prevented me from capturing the serial number of the plane.

Greetings,

This is my first post in this forum. Do hope you guys will pardon me if I missed out any ground rules needed to post here. Recently, I went plane spotting and I picked a few of my best shot in my opinion and intending to post it in here. Will be glad if you guys would be able to give my ome pointers and comments about these photographs. I'm only a Beginner Aviation Photographer ;)

Posting here for the first time... Was covering a funeral when this fella decided to do low passes overhead a few times... So since he is presumably taking shots of us, why not we take shots of him too... so here you are:

Nice ! thanks for sharing.

Actually, all fighter jets have a tail hook. It's only a question of how big it is. The f-16's hook is tiny as it's not meant to be used daily.

It's a tail hook.
More commonly seen on naval aircraft.

For land based aircraft..
Useful when the brakes fail...

The bomb burst isn't to honour the president. The 5 ship close formation flypast was the presidential salute. The presidential salute was typically flown by 3 f-16s. Last year we did it with 3 f-15s. This year it was increased to 5 f-15s. The bomb burst follows the salute, which wasn't flown this year. Low key year I guess. :)

Anyone know why there is no bomb burst for this year NDP to honour the president? Or did I miss something?

Hi guys,

Been in Clubsnap for quite sometime but when inactive for a few months (or years?) already.

I just want to share some photos that I took at Changi Beach last month. Don't mind me budging in yeah? :)

Hello,

Hey guys, when you all go Plane Spot, do you guys bring along the scanner?

Depends on where.

You can find it if you trawl through through this thread. However do take note of the places where NOT to take at or risk having a tea with men in blue.....

Changi: Changi Beach at the north, Changi Business Park area in the south. My workplace is around Changi Beach so I take from there.
Paya Lebar. There are some who take near Ubi / Paya Lebar / Macpherson area.

I haven't tried planespotting at any of the other airports yet.

So I assume that the places above as you stated are risky for taking shots?

Think it's used only when trying to land on an aircraft carrier...

And Singapore doesn't even have a/c carrier. So no use de lol. Maybe uses in oversea training?

No lah, also used on land in case of emergency, e.g. brake failure.

That is a Singapore Airlines Cargo Boeing 747-400F. At your angle is is not possible to identify the registration number, but I can see the "Mega Ark" titles on the nose, hence this aircraft is still in the old SQC livery.

Hello,

Hey guys, when you all go Plane Spot, do you guys bring along the scanner?

Using scanners to listen to ATC is illegal in Singapore. If you want to use them while spotting it's at your own risk and you've been warned.

A300s and A310s tend to be quite rare now at Changi.

I was also quite fortunate to get this:

P1040157.JPG

P1040155.JPG

Airmark Aviation An-12F EK-12112

A300s are indeed rather rare but FedEx continues to operate a regular A310 freighter service into Singapore.

EK-12112 is an almost daily visitor to Singapore. If it arrives on schedule you will see in in daylight, but if not then you might spot it on the cargo aprons somewhere.
