Official Nikon DL

Same here. My priority is the 18-50.

Not sure how the 1" sensor works for landscapes though. Need to dig a bit more.

This range will attract selfie lovers due to wider range

Good point. Personally I never quite liked using UWA lenses to take selfies cause can see my own arm in the picture. Heh..

Use the stick but it's also heavier than a phone btw, heh heh!

I doubt it. Selfie lovers will hate the distortion.

Thats suuposed to be idea. The owner will hold the cam and stay at the center. Will look slimmer from the rest of the groupie. Lol

The more I stay in this thread, the more likely I will get the 18-50. Dangerous.

Sounds like the end of Nikon 1...

I would buy but for my investment in RX100 + underwater housing...

Looking at the battery life, it would only last me half a day of shooting. What is it with the puny batteries? All of the mirrorless cameras suffer from this same problem.

Smartphones already lasts at least for a whole day.

I agree. Would it kill them to make the battery a little bigger. The right side could do with a slightly beefier grip given the lens protrusion without affecting the form factor too much. Something Ricoh GR like would be great IMO.
No right side control dials either but at least there's a control ring on the lens but this makes it a two-handed UI.
But having said all that I'd still take a close look at the DL 18-50 when it's released.

Why don't they do it like the V1 using the same battery as D8xx D7xxx?

Do you know if these were shot using the DL cameras as well?

On a side note, anyone looking at using the 24-500 for birding? I was thinking of using it to shoot sports but the zoom by wire system irks me somewhat since it makes zooming less responsive to a traditional lens.

Copied from camera introduction:
"This camera's focal range will also likely appeal to architecture and landscape shooters. To further tempt said group, it has a built-in perspective control feature that can be used to distort the image to correct for perspective distortion."

Hi,
Does anyone know whether you get get/produce stills from videos shot from these cameras, very much like the Panasonic FZ1000 ?
If yes, any idea of the image size for the still photo, i.e. how many megapixels.

Thanks in advance
