Official Canon EOS 7D User Thread Part I

Hey guys, i might be grabbin 7d body this weekend..any recommendation on where I can get lowest price?

Call up the shops to ask for quotation. Prices are a bit jumpy nowaday so it is very very difficult for anyone of us to know the exact price and which shop would sell cheaper.

Hi,

Juz bought myself a 7d body, 50mm f1.4 & other accessories yesterday. Also ordered a 17-55mm lens too. Upgraded from a 550d. Looking forward to learn from the experts here.

Hi 7D bros. I just upgraded to 7D. Wanna check whether anyone got any idea where to buy screen protector for the LCD for both the top small screen and the back large display screen?

Yes.. just knock the door and they will open for you..

Cool thanks bro! Today went down and they told me for 7D is out of stock. Must wait for stock to arrive. Boring.

Oh... call them to confirm the stock when you go down so can save a trip too... sometime their website did not put out of stock.

Thanks for the recommendation bros. I really enjoyed my 7D. I especially like the shutter sound compared with my previous 60D. It sounded more pro. And the firing of 8fps the music nearly wet my pants. Lolz.

The area was lighted up using fluorescent light?
I think the graduate effect doesn't look like it's caused by light.. have you tried shooting outdoors and other places?
Are all the shots the same?
Maybe your house is not clean X=

Just wondering if anyone has use Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 EX OS HSM with 7D? If so, how's the IQ? Thanks!!

Hi, anyone have tried 17-55 2.8 lens and 24-70 2.8 L lens on 7D? Which one is better? Can share?

I have the 17-55 lens for the 7D and find it to be a perfect general all-round lens. It is sharp, contrasty and colourful. Optically it is equivalent to an "L" lens.

I've never tried the 24-70L and although some people use it with the 7D, I would not find it wide enough for my needs. Before buying the 17-55, I used to use the 28-135 with a crop camera and found that it was insufficient for interior shots and architectural shots. There is nothing wrong with the 24-70 or 28-135, but for my needs, I need something wider. That is why I much prefer the 17-55.

Does anyone know how much Canon charges to repair a battery grip (BG-E7)? The shutter button has stopped responding on mine. Half-pressed is fine (the camera will attempt to focus) but when fully pressed the camera does not respond or take the shot.

Me.

It performs better on my 7D than 5D because it vignettes badly on FF. 7D uses the optimally sharp center area of the lens.

On an APS-C, it gives the 70-200 f2.8L IS mk 2 a very close fight. The lens only loses out where full frame is concern, due to poor corner performance.

Oh, this might or might not matter, it doesn't have a focus distance limiter like the canon teles. This means that if it hunts focus, it will hunt over a longer focus range then the canon teles who can limit their focus range.
