Official Canon EOS 7D User Thread Part I

Hi 7D Users! I just purchased mine a week ago. And I realised that whenever I shoot at high speed continuous, the focus seems differ from pic to pic. How do I solve this issue? Thank you for your advices!

Wat is ur focus setting?and wat kind of object u shooting?a fast moving object or a non moving object?

Ok. Any recommendations? Anyone using the third party battery which id-sg is selling now?

You can find alot on ebay..I bought mine from a ebay shop in germany..2batt and a charger cos ard $40..the batt dont have batt life indicator but i am okiee with it as i alway bring spare batt and have a habbit to charge my batt once it flat..Reminder..Org charger cannot charge 3party batt..

Can buy them @ local camera shops too. Buy those that are coded so can use same charger.

Hi All 7D users,

I am aslo newly converted canon 7D users.Well not so new already 1month+ and took thousands of photos. I am using 1755 and when I use Zone AF with one shot i have lots of inconsistant OOF. But its ok on spot Af and AF expension mode.

I wonder its camera fault.Anyone experienced?

Anyone uses Sigma 70-200 APO OS HSM? Thinking of getting this...anyone can share your experience?

It's quite good on crop, as you avoid the vignetting issues that occur with this lens on full frame. It's much easier to recommend on crop an full frame as on crop there is little optical difference between it and the sharpness of the Canon mk2.

This is because in Zone there are multiple AF points and the camera will pick the closes subject to you within the zone to focus on. This might not be what you want to focus on.

Some of the other brothers here have already noted that spot AF has the most accurate Focusing.

I heard about Tamron 70-200. It was said that it focuses slowly, but image quality is better than Sigma's

Sigma 70-200 OS is optically better than tamron. Although the tamron is better than then old non-OS sigma.

Do you guys have good results with AF expansion? I felt it gave me poor focusing results 50% of the time.

Thanks ShaneKua! :) I'm hoping to get my hands on the Sigma later today if possible! lol

anyone here can recommend a good wired timer remote for the 7D? i bought the JJC one off from amazon and it seems like it doesn't work anymore.. i just bought it in May... i used a few times and now it isn't firing my camera anymore... not sure why? would like to try other brands

I am looking up for recommendations for getting either Canon's 70-200, Tamron's or Sigma's.
Canon's pretty much outta my league but i heard Sigma's close enough.

Can consider this BG some more double as a battery grip and no more wires.

Zone AF tends to give inconsistent AF points... i still think that using Spot or Point is more reliable...
