OFFICIAL: CANON EOS 7D Mark II - User Thread

Gotta agree with the insane AF,am guessing the high ISO is very hard to beat from another crop body, I used to keep my ISO lower den 800 from the last 2 bodies, now I'm always going up way higher, lol makes life so much easier man,
Btw thanks for the info on lpe6, am thinking of using lpe6 instead

Quick update from Canon..they are waiting for replacement parts for my camera...=s...seems like a overhaul? They will let Me know what they have replaced later on....

lol... I have a feeling that they dunno what's wrong at the moment yet... So maybe replace part by part (trial and error)? Well, anyway, It's good progress already.

Hmmm  Seems to me that it would be more cost efficient for them and more convenient for you to simply replace the camera with a new one. I cannot understand their thinking.

I hope they replace my shutter..cause they would have burnt through alot more shutter counts..ontop of that 400 the assistant burnt through the other time..gonna ask them tomorrow

maybe they want to prevent the hoard of current 7d2 users to flock to them for 1-to-1 exchange or refund citing random small problems by posing a lot of problems and wasting a lot of time for eggie bro here

either way, it doesn't reflect greatly on them

No i wasn't. I followed your posts from the start till the present. I am sorry if you took it the wrong way. Your problem with the battery is well justified and warranted you a replacement from their part, from my perspective at least.
But instead you wasted your time going back and forth the service centre because of a bad copy. They could easily solve the problem by giving you a replacement set but it seems like they purposely want to make things difficult for you, so you would come here and post about it. If they offered a replacement so easily, people might be tempted to "try their luck" and complain about their camera as well, maybe to get replacement or refund from their impulse purchase.

By giving you so much trouble, and wasting so much of your time, it could be their attempt to deter people to chut pattern at their service center. Just my 2cents, i meant no offence.

Think you were being a tad oversensitive there. Though I can appreciate your frustration, it did not look like he was being sarcastic. Mind you, he did mention it does not reflect well on Canon.

My bad, quite frustrating not having ny camera around..apologies

I would be frustrated too. We're all behind you Eggie. Hopefully Canon will do right by you.

Quick update, collecting back the camera tomorrow morning..they can't find anything wrong..and even after extensive testing, they can get 800 over shots......and the camera glitch is assistant in every 7dmk..So only a firmware update will solve it.....

erm, does that mean that nothing have been replaced? And their explanation is that every other 7d mk2 user should be facing this issue?

If this is the case, I think you can complaint straight up to whichever media channel or what..

*btw, did you ask how they did the 800 shots? Continuous firing?*

True... I have great reservations in buying this camera after reading about this experience and how Canon has failed to duplicate the issue.

I'm just wondering how many more sets of local mk2s are having the same battery issues..and how many have been brought up to Canon..like mine...gotta find out tomorrow

Just collected back the camera....I'm confused..they showed me photos of the battery testing....over 2 days they managed to get 890+ shots with 9% battery remaining with my settings?......they changed out the motherboard and the ecd too and my battery

.and I found out the original battery I charged the day I sent in my camera and left in my dry cabinet all along till today.had drained till the 1 bar is blinking..10 days.....so..it might be the battery itself causing problems.. it might be the entire batch or just mine....from what the senior tech said...

And for the glitch..they themselves can't send feedback to Japan as long as a 3rd party item is involved.the tech said even when u attach original Canon extenders with lenses .u won't be able to do af micro adjusting.so there's a limitation...then he said my extender can do af micro adjustment just not for my 100mm macro lens..which cripples the camera...for lens calibration they rather adjust personally for the customers..then I asked him..like that the af micro adjust is pointless la...he said is there's limitations lor....

So ill go back home n try out this new battery which is made nov 2014..hopefully things will be fine

I thought you have changed the battery earlier on?
