OFFICIAL: Canon EOS 70D User Thread

Amazon says "This item will be released on September 15, 2013". That should be some indication of availability here.

Sounds like a very good plan. Just two comments:

i) Macro -I used to own the 60mm macro. I think that I used it less than 5 times. I sold it last year. I found the focal range too short to be useful. I had to get very close to the subject (mostly insects). I bought a 100mm macro and this has become one of my favourite lenses. I used it for portraits too. Very good lens and highly recommended.

ii) Wide - I think you meant the Canon EF-S 10-22 (not 12). Regardless, the Canon is an excellent lens. Also consider the Tokina 11-16, Sigma 8-16 or Sigma 10-20. All are very good lenses. I used to own the Sigma 10-20 and it also became one of my favourites. The thing about wide angle lenses is that you can be very creative with them.

Good luck with your new purchases.

Thanks, now the problem is whether my skills can use this new baby properly or not.

Price of new EOS 60D collapses below $1000. Canon is clearing stocks now before the launch of EOS 70D.

Below $1000 definitely a good buy for its performance

B&S in CS has a lot of 60D selling $700+ lately

Alternatively, Canon 70D with new Sigma 18-35 f1.8 for even more creative potential.

this is what i'm looking at. to upgrade my long overused, over-abused 500D XD

Yup. from the few videos i've seen, the live view absolutely rocks. Hope to get a chance to play with it soon.

then just get the FF :bsmilie: don't think they will replace the the 5 and 6 series that soon.

I was using my 500D till like a couple of months back that I finally decided to go FF instead of another crop body. But the drawback is the amount of lenses I have to sell away and to acquire after the upgrade. (replacing EF-S with EF lenses)

I think u should decide first if u need a FF or APSC.

If new is $800+ then BNS should be in the $500-$600 region (depending on age, condition, etc.) right? So $700+ still too high....

Same here. Am contemplating between the 7D and the 70D, as I rough out my camera most of the time. I do quite a bit of video, still waiting to see how 70D's video will fare.

/on a side note my 500D weathered downpours and drops here and there :-D/

I'm thinking to buy 70D and the deal at harvey norman looks good. $2149 with a few freebies. Is there any better deals?

The 18-135 kit set? Last check with some shops in funan, ms color etc it cost ard $1.8k+ for the 18-135mm kit lens set.

1.8K for the 18-135mm is pretty expensive. Buy online grey set lens is much cheaper. It probably costs you less than $400 for the lens only

It 18-135 STM IS lens KIT set. Meaning camera with kit lens. Not LENs only.
So far 70D grey set are not worth which almost same price as local set.
