By right.... yen drop... should have some reflection........

Canon refuses to drop prices, so? No neeed to wait.

Just buy from overseas like some had mentioned. Local retailers will feel the squeeze if many are buying from overseas. This will then trigger Canon Sngapore to relook at their pricing. If local sales are so good, why would Canon drop prices?

Nowadays, many people travel for business trips or leisure, so just take a bit of your time to buy photography gear when you are there.

Yup, couldn't agree more. I've been in Japan for the last 4 weeks and the prices are so much lower here. Something is wrong in Singapore, you shouldn't buy there and support the unrealistic pricing.

I bought mine in Hong Kong. First time I've bought a camera body overseas. The price was too good to pass up, but not as good as in Japan it would seem!

Not everyone has the opp to make the purchase overseas. And I think many would prefer to pay a premium for local warranty in any case.

There are no best place and time to buy. Just how one value the trade off.

But then again yen is all time low. So it sld b cheaper in a few mths time.

It will most prob reflect in the next shipment but not now.

Beside 6D is really a great camera. Lovin it. But now bitten by e L virus to compliment it.

Companies have an incentive to practice price discrimination to unlock further profit, as long as consumers are willing to pay for it - this is the consumer surplus.

I would think people would do a lot better if they make their photographic purchases overseas. The prices in Singapore are fairly unrealistic, in my opinion.

Trouble is, Singapore is also the place with the highest concentration of millionaire households - I suspect these folks won't have a problem with a couple of hundreds of cash. As for the not so fortunate ones, I have a nagging suspicion that people are over stretching themselves, by either taking a dip into their savings, or tapping onto credit facilities.

so best to wait? hmm

I am waiting a bit.... plus this year world economy is not good... so prices should be lowered...

My personal take is.....

I think prices in SG is still high because maybe there's still enough buyers (we have a lot of richer new citizens/ PR/ FT who can pay millions for EC, and $90K+ COE) that will keep the price high.... and when the demand drop, then, they will do price adjustment....

So that's part of how our life get it by Paying And Paying more than the rest of the world???

I am also waiting for the drop..... might be 4 months later... sigh........

Prices never really drop here, it's still nothing compared to price drops in Europe and Japan.

It will drop going through the product life cycle pricing.... but most likely lesser than the drop in Europe & Japan....

lol, that's what I said.

Actually price got drop ah. And like 24-70f4 it's cheaper in SG than USA :)

And other lens is not really cheaper.

So guess it really depends on pdts. And if you manage to get gd deal from the sales. E.g one may get 270ex2 at 100 plus brand new if you know who and where to get.

wait many months to drop $100 or $150. dont think its worth the wait unless drop is $300-400

Patience.....it's not like as though one NEEDS it right..if someone wants a huge drop in price..wait for the economy to crash..easy..if not just buy it if u know how to manage ur money..

Anyone, spotted 6D battery grip BG-E13 in any store locally? Can't seen to find them.
