Firstly, Taiwan QC is VERY VERY good. That is why their semiconductor industry booms while Singapore wanes.

Secondly, the article states Canon plans to "move all production lines of single-lens digital cameras to the Jiayi plant at the end of this year (2012)." So, we expect all Canon DSLRs to be slapped with Made in Taiwan sticker at some point.

If it is Taiwan, I think it is still better than PRC.....

As long as the images are sharp.... that matters to me most.....

Seems that 24-70 f/4 IS lens is now (4-Jan-2013) available in B&H USA. Can't wait for kit to arrive on Singapore shores.

6D using Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG

Taken at F2

100% Crop

I wonder y it does not look sharp when its uploaded to photobucket :( its was sharp at my picture viewer .....

Try Flickr?

I was thinking to moving to FF and 6D falls within my budget. what hinders me is its AF system and also 1 cross type. Maybe you guys who got it would like to share with me on it.

Lanscape..portraits..yes..sports wild life not so fantastic...1 insanely sensitive cross type is good enough

Yes. I like to take landscape, street photography. I assuming u are saying those fast moving objects are a no no.. What about people running or kids doing activities, I guess it will be alright? Still hoping the price will drop abit this month haha

moving up from 550D, 6D's quite a huge leap for me. I don't shoot much, but when I do I shoot mainly stills. So intrinsic photo quality is quite important to me, not so much about the AF. Anyway, make do with what you have and work around the limitations! :)

6D is not suitable for AF Servo type of work. (Neither is Nikon D600). You'll need better AF sensors like the one in 5D3 and D800.

Early reports indicate very disappointing results from 24-70 f/4L IS: worse than 24-105. On one hand, I am very disappointed. On the other hand, I am glad 'cos this will save me quite a bit of money. :D

I shall wait for TDP and PZ results. But I fear for the worst... even if their results are good, it may mean poor Taiwan QC... assuming lens is made in Taiwan. Sigh....

Any links to share? It would be quite shocking if the IQ is not top-notch considering how expensive this lens is priced.

Oh... But heard from a Pro whom had tried the lens, he seems to be quite happy from the quality and says it abt the size of 15-85 which is quite good.

u mean even using servo mode it won't help either?

I'm using that setup on my 60d since the day i bought from the 2nd mth onwards till now haha ya it's a gd lens.

I've used the AI Servo mode for some events. While subjects are quite accurately tracked, sometimes there is a slight delay for the camera to lock focus

German review site.

I am honestly shocked myself. Seems that LensRental (USA) has received 20-25 copies of the lens. Awaiting their test results which will be very revealing.

I mean 6D and D600 are not suitable for AF tracking kind of work.
so it would be better on my 60d instead. Ok now I got it on how its like.

But if u have a better glass, I guess the image will turn out pretty well when u hi speed continuos shoot on the object right?

With its 4.5fps it's alright for normal activities..u might miss a few awesome shots in burst mode..but it's fine.

remember to use ai servo n auto af points during those times in order to get ur camera to track the movements..otherwise it will just focus on the background if u don't pan with yr subjects fast enough....

Also if u can shoot good..any grade of lens won't affect ur picture unless yr a pixel peeper...
