Just had a short test with the 6D earlier. Really feels and handles like a full-frame 60D and looks like a 5D II mini!

Its feels light! Silent shutter's about the same as my 5D3, which is great for stealthy shots! I didn't really notice any AF issues in shop lighting, so that's good! Good thing the buttons are not as stiff and mushy like the 60D, but still not as nice as other DSLRs I've used.

All in all, a very decent no-frills FF camera. Straight forward and simple to use like the 60D. Great for any only center AF point loving folks. Better than the 5D2 imo.

Would I pick the 6D if I wanted a budget FF? Sadly no. I'd rather go for the D600, but that's just me.
i would pick D600 if i dont have canon lenses.

I am still debating... Nikon 16-35 f/4 VR, 24-120 f/4 VR, 70-200 f/4 VR, 50 f/1.4 sound like a decent combo to go with the D600... but the D600 oil/debris/dust issue scares me... while the weight of 6D appeals to me...

I am also considering to get the Canon 6D... Even though I previously thought of switching over to Nikon's D600, IMO, Canon makes good gears, and the 6D seems quite powerful and versatile with it's WiFi function and low light feature... Though I gotta admit, the 1 Crosstype AF and lower details on higher iso (also softer) is quite a turn-off... :(

Now I'm just waiting for more reviews before deciding on 6D or 5DMkIII... but the price range of 6D seems to be best FF at it's price now... Am using a 60D now btw... :)

Check out the review of the 6d on digital rev tv on YouTube..entertaining

I seriously feel they should change the reviewer. The video is good though

For me, it wil be 6D or D600..... if I have the $$$ for the 5DMKIII vs D800... will go for the 5MKIII.... but I dont.... sigh....

Kai propelled DR TV to stardom (or vice versa). Many lovers and haters :D

no need bah. we need mix of entertaining and serious type of review. Good review videos we will have plenty like cameralabs, TheCameraStoreTV and more coming up

Hehe. Pre-Kai DR TV era :D

just felt asleep watching that:bsmilie:

but really, kai's review may not be a detailed review but it sure is entertaining lol

Anyway, in his 6D review, he also does seems to like the wifi function alot

Seems to me, Canon putting in the wifi is a really good move

Digitalrev is not the same without Kai :bsmilie:

Exactly. The main reason why I watch it, is it's 50% entertainment. If I need serious reports on a certain item, there's tons of detailed lab tests out there. But sometimes, these are just paper knowledge. I'm also interested in hearing user feedbacks, experience and opinions. Kai did a great job on that.

And not to forget, not everyone is bothered, or able to understand with all those geeky lab tests. Many just want a simple review, and Kai delivers a simplistic overview of the items, with some opinions and entertainment in a package.

I doubt Nikon and Sony dare to release a DSLR/SLT in the same class or above without WiFi from now on.

Actually my train of thought goes like this:

I believe most of the users upgrading from crop to FF, there's a high chance that most of the lenses they own are EF-S lenses, such as the 15-85, 17-55, 10-22, etc which can't be used on Canon's FF anyways. Therefore, these users are free to choose any brand they want if they wish to go FF, after selling their lot of EF-S lenses.

I believe your point applies mainly to those who already have a FF body looking for a backup or a crop user who has stuck to EF lenses (prime lens users for example). :)

Same. I watch Kai reviews for a general picture of cameras. Sometimes we r too geeky, nick picking every feature of a camera like no 100% VF, no cross type, no mag ally and no cf card as if they will make u a better photographer. he gives a good job on giving a actual practical usual for camera everyday.

I think that Kai appeals to the younger set and those young at heart. He is entertaining and charismatic. I think that DigitalRevTV owes a lot to his ability to pull in viewers and vice versa.

I would like to see a little more of Lok and Alamby. They too add a dimension to the segments that enhance its over-all appeal. I would also like to see the 'mysterious producer' that Kai jokingly has great disdain for!

add in, no dual card slots :o

what interest me is the WiFi and the IOS apps that support with it. After seeing Digitalrev review,it make me think that 6D expand a whole new way of shooting.

Yeah, like the Samsungs and Sonys before...

but not on a DSLR? lol...

Feel like going down to Canon @ Harbourfront to test out the 6D vs 5DMkIII... Do you guys know if they have test sets there?
